I295 rejoins I95 at Augusta, then exit 113 is Rt 3 to Belfast then Rt 1 to Ellsworth.
The Rt 3 / Rt 1 section is a nice scenic ride and over the last few years Rt 3 has been mostly repaved and is good road.

Reminds me of a trip we took years ago, shortly after getting married, in an old Dodge Dart.
South Bend to Cleveland, stayed with relative
Cleveland to Ithaca, camped at a waterfall park near town.
Back roads across the Catskills, camped in a park overlooking the Hudson valley. black flies
to Boston, another relative
to Bar Harbor, hiked the park
Return was 1d to Conn, for a friend's wedding
1d to Youngstown Ohio
1d to South Bend.

Take I-90 east to the Massachusetts Turnpike, to I-495, to I-95 north, to I-295 north, to I-95 north to Bangor, then on to route 1 east, to route 3 east and your there. There are many campgrounds along the way. Enjoy Bar Harbor.
