I appologize if this is not the place to discuss this. We are planning a Fall trip, around the first of November to admire the folliage. Starting in FLA and no more than two weeks what are some nice spots to visit and are most RV parks still open then?

Our guess is 2 more weeks in NC. Unless a storm comes through.

We left Maine and Vermont 3 days ago. Now in Penn heading south today. Maples are in full color but oaks still green. Major cold front this week will bring major changes all the way to Atlanta. you should have lots of color from North Ga on up in a week or so.

Check out the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee GA. They have a section open year around on the lake over looking the mountains.

Not sure if leaves will still be good then, call them and ask. Hiawassee is in the north GA mountains.

On our way back from Florida in late March we visited the Pine Mountain, GA area and Calloway Gardens. We stayed at Pine Mountain RV Resort, a very nice facility. Pine Mountain itself is a small village, but has some nice shops. Check out Calloway Gardens if that interests you. They have a great butterfly house and their greenhouse is beautiful.

The foliage in Acadia (Bar Harbor Maine) is just peaking now. We were in Acadia for the last week and it went from almost nothing to quite good. We would have stayed a few more days if the campgrounds didn't close on Columbus Day. On our trip from Bar Harbor Maine to Wells Maine today the foliage would have been great if it wasn't for all the fog and rain. :R

Thanks, we thought the NE would be past its peak, but hoped something in GA. Or Carolinas would still be good!

I don't know how far you plan to go, but the foliage is about a week or week and a half from peak around here. Maybe further south, you might hit it in/around Arkansas in November.

I would ask the moderator to move this to the roads and routes forum or the RV parks and campgrounds forum for more responses since it is not really a 5th wheel specific question.
