High Winds on I-80 in WY

We just had to pull off the highway to wait it out. The winds and rain are crazy from Rawlins to Evanston and north to Casper.

I'm sorry to tell you, we may be "invading" sooner than later too 🙂 We own some land just outside of Pinedale and plan to start building a home there soon. I'd live there full time if I could guarantee good internet service so both of us could still work our current jobs. I don't mind the bad weather as long as I'm not traveling in it 🙂

drove from Gillette,SD to Livingston,Montana today. Got a whopping 7.8 avg. mpg

Week ago I came from Denver to St Louis on I-70 with a good tail wind...25 mph+. Started on the right rear and shifted to the left rear. Increased mpg by 1 driving 8-10 mph faster. Other than 3 long construction zones I-70 is in pretty good condition on thick, smooth concrete roads.

Check Wyoming DOT site. I say it's pretty helpful for traveling. Ability to search for warnings/advisorys by route.

Wind gusted so hard it just blew out one of our windows on the other side. Buying plastic and duct tape at Walmart now.

Going through N. Mexico in March is no fun either.
Pulled off for two days once and only got going again when it shifted to a tail wind.

We were in Rawlins Wy about 2 weeks ago it was very windy also. Nebraska in the spring time is also a very windy place.
