Minnesota to California with new ride

We are flying to Scandia Minnesota wednesday to drive the new coach home. Was considering I-80 but was looking at the map and I-90 looks interesting also. Would enjoy seeing devils tower. Mountain windy roads affect wifey a little but we have

plenty of time to get home. driving our new ( to us) winnie Itasca, 29ft. really looking forward to this, I love to drive.

They must use them for pollination. We saw many hives along the way in the fields. Janet's bees are for honey production and personal pollination of orchards or just backyard gardens. She has 6 hives on the

10th floor of the fairmont hotel in Newport Beach, they use the honey in their kitchen. Those bees are some of the best producers and just a mile from John Wayne Airport, they love it up there.

Funny, but it was Sioux City. Wife is a beekeeper and she buys from a company that is located there so she stocked up and saved some

shipping costs.

The trip went well. 2376 miles to our home. Went to Sioux city, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Zion with a final overnighter in Vegas. Coach is excellent. Shows no wear or use on

anything. Brought my scan gauge with me and kept it plugged in to monitor fuel mileage. Between 61 and 64 mph it averaged 10.4 mpg. I also checked it by using the old mileage

verses usage method. Well worth the trip, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, looking for a reason to hit the road again.

The last report my navigator gave me is that we will be using I-70 for the reasons you just stated.
We havent traveled in a while together, its usually me headed to the drag races and her to a beekeeping event. This is going to be a hoot.

The reason I mentioned I-70 is the rest stops. Some are along the Colorado River and so nice its hard to find a parking place on weekends cause of all the locals. In Utah at one rest stop we came across a native American selling her merchandise, we walked a little further and past the shrubbery it opened into a deep canyon. I thought I-80 was dull compared to I-70,

The fun part of this whole trip is getting feedback and then checking out the maps. Wife insists I go into a cave which for me is like having a root canal, just try to avoid them.

Agree with the Badlands loop. Stayed at the KOA at the bottom of Devils Tower for one night. Nice paved trail walk around the tower. If you havn't done it, drop down I-25 and take I-70 through Colorado and Utah to I-15.

If you don't have it yet try gas buddy. Com. Great APP especially if you are using diesel.

The Next Exit guide is really valuable to us. Everything listed on every exit of every major highway, in red if it's rv friendly. I'm with your wife, Apps are good but the paper guides are easier to follow & read

Bringing GPS plus what is on the phones. Wife still likes her maps though, went to AAA and stocked up

I really enjoyed Devils Tower. They have a nice campground there, although we stayed in Sundance and drove our tow car. I also suggest driving the Badlands Nat'l Park loop road.

Does that mean you do not have a GPS? Much easier on the Navigator an possibly more accurate.
