I know this is normally for RV travel. However we are traveling from San Jose, Ca to Bend, Oregon without our RV. Any advise on lodging one night around Mt. Shasta or near U.S. 97?

Stayed at a Comfort Inn just south of Weed (exit 745) about 6 years ago. It was fine. There is also a Quality Inn and a Pilot just down the street.

I am only somewhat trustful of review sites due to false posts. I more trust the opinions of RV folks.
