The Northern Lights have put on quite a show the last couple of nights. Maybe making up for a rather quiet winter.

Here's some of what I saw last night ...

The scenery is outstanding in the winter too. This time of year, we have daylight from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. This week, clear blue skies without a cloud to be seen. Absolutely stunning in the brilliant sunshine!

Ahhhh ... and January 2014 sunrises and sunsets! Far more colourful than the northern lights!

It doesn't have to be the winter to see them, just dark!
Sometimes I sit and think deep thoughts. other times, I just sit!

Me too! It's on my bucket list.

The problem is one can see the Northern Lights in the Winter, or the outstanding scenery in the summer/fall. Most including me have choose the Summer/Fall. I want to do both. . . .:M
Please give me enough troubles, uncertainty, problems, obstacles and STRESS so that I do not become arrogant, proud, and smug in my own abilities, and enough blessings and good times that I realize that someone else is in charge of my life.

Hi Sue:- We loved in the Yukon in the early 70s. Saw lots of shows like this. Thanks for the memories, these are great shots.

Dale, I was pointing the camera in every direction. The lights were intense across the whole sky and moving very fast! Set the shutter down to 5-6 seconds, otherwise the colour was too blurry.

As the lights became quieter at 11 p.m. and I was going inside, I took a shot from the deck looking south across the valley.

Great photos - We used to see the Northern Lights when growing up in SOuthern Illinois back in the 40s-50s.

Havent really seen many since then. Saw a touch of northern lights only one time here in Virginia.

Did you take those from behind your house, Sue? Just wondered. Kinda' looks like they would be all around your place.

Great pics Sue!

Last time I saw anything noteworthy was a few years ago running north of Edmonton for some work.

The Northern Lights really are a sight to behold!
