Question on West Virginia Turnpike!

Well in looking at the toll rates for the WV turn pike, they like to make it confusing on what the rate will actually be, just like other states. They are showing cars/suv`s as one rate and then just a car pulling a trailer as another rate. then on another page they are showing cars/trucks towing a trailer under 7'6" ?????????? very confusing. I want to get an EZ pass from IL which will allow me to use it in WV. can anyone tell me what the actual rate will be for my Excursion and 2 axle TT?

Thanks in advance!

Just got off the phone with the WV turnpike. Yes the IL Ipass will work with no issues. It will work anywhere EZPass is taken. So I'm good to go!

Thanks everyone for the info.

There's 3 toll booths, one south of Beckley, one north of Beckley and one just South of Charleston

It's $2.50 for cars & trucks pulling up to a 2 axle trailer and motorhomes without trailers. $3.25 for motorhomes pulling up to a 2 axle trailer.

I-77 between I-81 and Charleston has some pretty good grades

I was looking at the map. Only 3 toll booths? At a huge distance apart? Seems kind of odd for them to be that far apart (i forgot the distance).

I talked to the Illinois tollway today and asked about an EZ pass. when I told them what I was planning they told me that my Ipass will work. so now tomorrow I will call the WV turnpike and see what they have to say! thanks again everyone. the tolls don`t sound outrageous at all in WV. for me just to leave the NW Chicago suburbs for WI cost me almost $20!......one way. I now take back roads that only add 20 minutes to our trip!

Thanks again!

They told me my TX Pass would not work on the WV toll road. So, I had to stop and pay each time.

Pulling a 31' 5th wheel is $2.50 per toll booth and there are 3 of them.

I have an EZ Pass (or whatever the North Carolina version is) and it makes life easy - the rates charged always seem to be pretty low compared to what I might be charged so I have no complaints and just cruise through the pass-lane.
