Drove south on 491 on Oct 19, 2015. Great shape. Construction for a few miles about 20 north of Gallup but we moved thru it at a good pace. Pulled 38 foot 5th wheel.

Open range (no fences) along some of 491 through the reservation, means you need to watch for cows, sheep, horses, etc. The verge of the roadway provides some of the best grazing, so be prepared to stop around any blind curve or hill top.

The road is fine. Your title could be a little more informative.

NM491 is a good road for the biggest RVs. From Cortez you would then get on CO145 to Dolores - another good road.
