Looking to go to sometime this summer and looking for suggestions. What we ideally need would be a good CG that has both RV sites as well as cabins for rent. Will be 4 adults and 5 kids that range in the age from 3-13 so we would like something that would keep them entertained. My sister will bring their camper so that will take care of the sleeping arrangement for 4 people

I have seen a few KOA style parks that have a pool, playground, etc but everything seems crammed together. We were at a CG in Red River NM that was more of a roughing it style that only had bathrooms and water and while we really liked that type of camping, we were in a tent and don't want to do that this year with a small child.

Basically looking for a place where we can have fun, keep the kids entertained, close to water where we can fish & swim and not be stacked into a CG like sardines in a can....any suggestions?

We have used Compton Ridge numerous times with the grandkids. They always have a great time. Probably 10 minutes to the lake from the campground.

Compton Ridge is nice and has a motel next to it. It has an indoor pool, play area, but not by the water. Have you looked into Table Rock State park. Right on the water. some of the sites are close though. there are also a few COE parks in that area that are nice and near the water.

I've stayed at Compton, but will not go back. They are just to expensive. They do have some neat things for kids and families to do, but we spent more time going into Branson. Most parks in the area and not as expensive.

Its either Tall Pines Resort or Compton Ridge Resort in Branson, Mo. has RV sites, Cabins, and a Motel.

Also Willow Tree in Branson is both. A very nice Motel with a nice small RV park wrapped around the motel. They are pretty cheap too. Like about $40/night for Motel and about $28/night for RV (If I remember right).

You might look at Port of Kimberling Resort. Sits on Table Rock lake, has rv site, cabins, and motel rooms. Also boat rental. Just a few miles south of Branson on Hwy 13th. As for as I know, a lot of COE and State Parks around the lakes but none that rent cabins or rooms. If you just rv around Beaver, Dam Site park is one of the best. Sites are on a point so all site are on the water.JMHO
