We are heading to Bisbee on Monday, just for a couple of days. I haven't been there for about 12 years. Hope it is as fun as it was then.

Just got home from Bisbee this afternoon. Had a great time. Stayed at the Queen Mine RV Park. Will definitely go back again.

Queen Mine tour was great fun. Very interesting. Informative.

The relatively new Golf Cart tour of Bisbee was well worth the money. $22 a person...for approximately one hour. Saw lots of things and places we would not have noticed or found, on our own. An excellent tour. Really nice and accomodating people that run that business.

Mining Museum is educational, interesting.

Post Office and Library are a step back in time.
As is the Muheim House.

Santiago's behind the museum.....great Mexican food.
Ana's Seasonal Kitchen on Main St.....fabulous breakfast.

The RV park was expected to be full later today and through this weekend with the Pride festival in Bisbee....this coming weekend.
We chatted with another very friendly gay couple this morning that arrived and parked next to us last night. They have been attending for the past 12 years, and were looking forward to the annual BBQ get together in the RV park. They encouraged us to stay, but..our space was spoken for already...and we needed to get home.

Queen Mine tour is fun. Ride a mine car into the mine.
Tombstone is fun. There is a mine tour there as well thats excellent but you have to climb down a long flight of stairs then back up.
Also nearby is Kartchner Caverns near Benson. Well worth visiting.
Around Sonoita and Elgin are numerous wineries for wine tasting.

Along with the Mining Museum take the Queen Mine Tour. Inside the mine it's a constant 65 degrees IIRC.

We were in Bisbee last year and thoroughly enjoyed their Mining Museum. It is located in an old brick Victorian building that was a copper mining company headquarters. It has several outstanding exhibits designed by the Smithsonian Institution and really gives you a feel for what the town was like during its heyday. The steep, winding streets are not much different than a number of other mountain mining towns, but are very different than open, flat Tombstone.

For me, Bisbee seems like a real town, Tombstone is just a tourist trap. But, fortunately, not everyone likes the same things.

We love Bisbee AZ although like you it's been a few years since we have been down there. Voted "America's best historic small town" by USA Today readers, it was once the most thriving community west of the Mississippi river and the mine has yielded enough minerals to place it among the top 3 richest deposits in the world. Being at a decent elevation it shouldn't be too hot, only places we RV during the summer in AZ is the White Mountains or around Flagstaff. Have a great time and let us know how your trip went, being born and raised in the Valley of the Sun, we had family in Bisbee and our trips during our childhood there were an absolute joy.

Just a small artist colony now. Very few stores that are open. We only go there for lunch when out on the motorcycle. Not much else going on. We prefer Tombstone - much more action there.
