Broward County Florida Pet Limitation

We will be traveling with three dogs and one fully indoor cat in Florida for three weeks that will include Christmas and New Years. We just made a reservation at Broward County Park near Ft. Lauderdale, but their online registration says two pets maximum (not just two dogs maximum). Does anyone know how strict they are with this rule?

Follow up question: Do most RV campgrounds in Florida limit pets to two? If so, we're in trouble!

I am sure I would rather be parked next to the person with the 3 dogs and 1 cat than half the people that responded to this simple question. You just can not fix miserable.

This thread did get a little mean spirited. Seems like I've read similar where someone asks "I just booked at a park with a length limit of X but my rig is really a little longer will I be OK". The responses to one breaking that rule seem to be much kinder.

Really, you can't expect folks to actually read the thread through before bashing the OP for asking a question...

That's just ridiculous. :R :W

The Moderator agrees with this. Time to close this thread down.

To the OP if you have been on this site for any length of time you should have realized any pet question will be controversial. Hope you had your fire suit on for the flaming.

This rule is probably similar to the 10 year old rule. If the management gets a complaint, they have an out and a reason to pitch you out.

I'm not sure how we got from having 4 dogs to being uh-American, but I'll wager rules are broken every day by the holier-than-tho posters. Have you ever actually slowed down to 20 mph in a school zone unless you knew a cop was watching? 25 is close enough. Well, maybe 30 is ok. Well, at least I slowed down.

If your moral code allows you to lie on a campground registration form, then check in with how ever many dogs you care to claim. If someone complains, buck up and move on.

Isn't that what it really comes down to? Your own personal moral code or ethics. Doesn't matter what others say, people are going to do what they feel justified in doing. In that case, it comes down to taking the consequences of your actions.

We called and explained our situation. They said fine.
Now they can throw their rule book out. That can't reasonably allow your 4 pets and not mine.

I bet if the OP had called and explained that they had two great Danes, a pit bull, and a rottweiler, the answer would have been "no".

It's called management discretion.

That was 3 dogs and a cat.

Thanks. Don't know how I missed it. Then yes that would pose a problem.

From my limited camping in Broward County parks a couple years ago.

I was asked for my number of pets upon check-in, and the rules I signed said more than two pets was grounds for immediate eviction with no refunds.

TY Park is very nice, but the rigs are so close together that it might be impossible for folks to not see you have more than two dogs.

Markham Park sites are not so close together so it would be easier with more than two dogs.

I did see a family in a big Newmar evicted from TY about 9 pm one evening for not picking up after their small dogs. Father got in the park staff face about it being no big deal. Park employee walked off and about 15 min later the police showed up and gave him 15 min to get the rig out of the park.

I'm waiting to find a park that has a "Maximum of two very well behaved children allowed per site, owners must keep them on a 6 foot leash, and pick up after them. $6 per child per day." rule.

My dogs don't require, or use, a playground, pool, or sports field, they don't cut through other sites shrieking at the top of their lungs, make graffiti, carving their initials into things or toss litter wherever they please.

Why should I be penalized because some OTHER pet owners are irresponsible?

I've seen far more ill mannered children in parks over the years then pets by a long shot.

A little different cg, as it is a snowbird park. But none the less, in the rules states "Max of two pets". So two years ago a couple comes in and parks. They had three white dogs of some breed. Walked just two of them at a time, then put those back inside and walked number three. Manager got on to the situation and the next day they were OUT the gate! You do what you want to do.
