Coming from Maryland, we've stopped at a variety of places down I-95 on the way to Disney (we're Disney freaks, what can I say?):

- Whispering Pines in Rincon, GA
- Pecan RV Park in Jacksonville, FL - with our A/C running, the planes have never been a problem
- Stagecoach RV in St. Augustine, FL

I'd go back to any of them again. We've stayed at Pecan Park 3 or 4 times now. Use Passport America- it's not well advertised, but can save you a bunch of money there.

we will be at The Fort in 2 weeks, for 2 weeks. ! ! !

and BTW , Pecan Park is one of our normal stops . .

Cathead Creek Ranch RV - exit 49 off I-95 in Darien, GA, roughly 1/2 way between Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL. Just there in May. Easy in/out, pull-thru sites, not fancy, but clean and friendly, and less than $30/night. We'd go back again!

If you plan to be there for only night time hours, then Coastal GA RV Resort is a good choice at Exit 29 of I-95 in GA. If you plan to be stopping in daylight hours, you might want to try Blythe Island Regional Park and Campground. There is no shade in Coastal GA RV Resort and August in Coastal GA is hot. Blythe Island is like a state park. Lots of shade, plus there's a lake and river if you like fishing. Also biking and hiking trails, playground, etc.

The North Jacksonville KOA is also nice at Exit 3 of I-95 in Kingsland, GA. Yes, it is a KOA, but there are a decent amount of trees to offer shade.

Brunswick, GA to the Fort is about 3.5 hours at the speed limit. Get on the road by 9 am and you'll have all day to spend at the Fort.

I stopped for the night at This One about six weeks ago. They have plenty or pull through sites and I didn't even unhook my 5'er. Check their web site and take a look at how they handle their one night campers. Pretty unique and worked well. If you need to leave earlier than the camper in front of you, pull to right right and drive on out. This is what I did and zero issues - Very Easy.

They are south of Lake City on I-75 at exit #399.

that's a long way to go from 95 for a overnight stop...don't ya think ?????? chuck

Great park is at x-1 in Ga ,just before going into Florida....called Country Oaks....call ahead reserve a pull thru ... that exit has about 3 gas stations and 2 truck stops for cheaper fuel before Florida...and then maybe 2 hours to The Mouse....Chuck

X2 - X3 for this one - great park, and close to I-95.

There's a KOA in Kingsland, GA that's just a mile from the Florida line. Crooked River State Park is not much further from the line in St Mary's GA.

Just inside Florida there is a nice rest stop with overnight security.

We are also heading to the Fort in August, we usually stay at Pecan Park when we go. Don't worry about the planes, the numbers go WAY DOWN after a certain time of the night !

we like Coastal Georgia RV Park in Brunswick GA. Long level paved pull thrus. Nice pool. Another option on GA-SC border is Camp Lake Jasper RV Park at Hardeeville SC. At Jacksonville is Pecan Park RV Resort or Flamingo Lake.

Coastal GA RV in Brunswick GA or Inland Harbor in Darien GA. Have stayed at both and would stay at either again. Of the two, I'd say Coastal is nicer, but either is fine.
