We're currently in Galveston with our next destination on the MS Gulf coast around Gulfport, anyone with suggestions for a good campground.

We're not happy with the woodall app on our ipad.

We stayed at the Buccaneer Park December 2012. It was partially recovered and partially in full repair. We enjoyed it while we were there, with new facilities and all. The tree were ragged (as expected) but the gulf was beautiful!

Thanks everyone, I should have been more specific in that we're only staying for a few days and want full hookups. The casino campground sounds good.

We downloaded the Woodall campground app onto our ipad and just don't put too much faith in it any longer. We saw one campground in Dickenson that looked OK by the photos but when we got there it was beyond horrible with long grass and a stack of tires infront of one trailer, junk around others etc., I stopped in front with my 4 ways on, walked to the office and asked if i was missing something, that there must be other part to the park or Woodalls has failed us miserably.
We're in Jamaica Beach right now and satisfied...we're scouting for next year.

Hi Timber - the new Good Sam Camping mobile app is actually supercedes the Woodall's app and has the latest campground data. Woodall's merged with Trailer Life Directory in 2013 to form the Good Sam RV Travel Guide and we have been transitioning Woodall's online products.

As the Woodall's app is no longer supported I encourage you to download the Good Sam Camping app from the app store - there's currently only the phone version which you can still download and use on your iPad.

Thanks,

Ellen Tyson

It's not just Woodall's. You will have that happen at some parks no matter what directory they are in. The person who is taking the photos can easily omit the bad areas, and of course the "prime" site is what is photographed.

We've stayed at Cajun RV Park if you're looking for RV park. Walk across the street to beach. Very convenient to everything.

Ditto Hollywood Casino Bay St Louis. Also a new park right across from the beach on US90 near US49 called Gulf Haven. It's basically a large gravel parking lot with hookups and no trees but the location is great. Depends on what you want.
Majestic Oaks in Biloxi is a pretty good choice. Pull thrus are fairly short so if you have a long rig pulling a toad you will have to unhook.

We spent 2 wks at the Hollywood Casino Rv Resort in Bay St. Louis this last Feb. It's a very nice park. No train noise. It's a great spot to stay and then travel out and explore. Gulfport is just about 10 min. away. The state park there is really nice too. We checked it out while in the area. I can't remember the name of it. Just do a search for state park Bay St Louis Ms.

Best in area is Hollywood Casino in Bat St. Louis. Short drive along beach to Gulfport.

Another vote for the Gulf Islands National Seashore, if you are looking for a campground. But not if you are looking for a RV park and calling it a campground.

You will find RV parks all along I-10, US-90, and the roads in between. I have no experience to recommend any of them, have just noticed them while traveling around the area visiting family in Ocean Springs.

If you qualify, there might be a FamCamp associated with Keesler.

There are alot of RV parks on coast 90 between Longbeach to oceansprings.. MOST are in very close proximity to train tracks. They are very active here, and very loud.. Buccaneer state park in waveland is great, still have some parts of the park under construction, I think the water park opens in may
Home is where the Marine Corps sends me.

There are several along the Ms. gulf coast. What are you looking for in a campground?

Another possibility is the Buccaneer State Park near Waveland. I understand it has been completely recovered since the last big hurricane. We've always enjoyed staying there.

How about the Gulf Islands National Seashore park - Davis Bayou at Ocean Springs MS ?

There is a forestry park on US 49 about 10 miles north of Gulfport - Big Biloxi

What type of park are you looking for?
