Any opinions/reviews on FCFSP. I've heard it's a nice place to camp. Thought I'd tap RV.NET's knowledge base on the subject. We are going to try to go the Spring or early Summer.

I don't believe so. All state park stays are by reservation only now. Go to the TN state park web site. Its very user friendly.

This place had an unusual check-in procedure, years ago, when we last visited. You find an empty site with no "Occupied" ticket and just set up. Then go to the office to pay.

Is this still the case?

If you go to the Tennessee State Parks web site, find whatever park you are interested in, there is a link for campsite reservations. When you click on that, it pulls up a layout of the campground. As you mouse over each site, there is a thumbnail photo of the site along with dimensions of the parking area, etc. Click on the + sign and the photo will get bigger.
Single empty-nester in Middle TN, sometimes with a friend or grandchild on board

Cannot go wrong with park! Beautiful park!! We stopped in on way back from Forida 2 yrs ago and ended up extending our stay by 2 days!!! Although some of the site are close together especially the full hook up area so opt for one of the sites close to the play yard field. Seen deer every morning walking thru the sites. We were there in Oct. Have fun!!! Tara

Here are some pictures of Fall Creek Falls last March. Had the campground to ourselves, almost. Gets very crowded in the summer, make reservations now.

There is a golf course right there and riding stables as well. I have not used either so can't tell you more than that. As you drive through the park you can see several different views of the golf course and it looks very well maintained.

I was told there was a golf course near Fall Creek Falls but have not been able to confirm it. Can someone advise. We intend to come down this summer and being an avid golfer I'd like to play if there's one close by.

Fall Creek Falls, (the water fall) is fed by a dam controlled creek coming from the lake. There is lots of water coming over the falls until the lakes drops in the summer.

During the 1950's before the dam, no water in the summer. But we loved it. Also only dirt (gravel) road.
