Feb-March ideas?

This is our Second snow bird season. Last year stayed 4 mos in Gold Canyon, AZ. First time ever in new RV. This year we have reservations for a different resort in Mesa for Nov, Dec, Jan. Haven't made plans for Feb & March yet & I'm getting a little worried. We thought we'd try something new & different for those two months but husb isn't giving me any input. I just looked up RGV & it's an extra 1155 miles. Not sure we want to go that much further. Has anyone stayed in Laughlin, NV Feb & March? Just want to go somewhere friendly, clean, pets welcome (have two toy dogs along), decent weather. Any advice from you seasoned veterans?
I guess if we ask to extend at the Mesa resort it'd be OK but just don't want to be stuck driving around aimlessly with no place set in mind to go next. Thanks.

So what was wrong with the park in Gold Canyon? Were you in the wrong one of the two there? We have been in CVRVR in Gold Canyon 5 winters and love it. A lot of the people next door are not that happy!

Look into this one. It gets good reviews and has an excellent price of $445/month.

Thank you for the great responses. Forgot to mention, money IS an object. Aren't Lk Havasu, Palm Springs, Hemet real expensive? I had looked about a month ago into some Calif resorts after a Motorhome mag article & prices for a month were exorbitant. We don't feel going to Mexico is a safe option. I'd read online Yuma was windy. And I don't think State Parks allow two month visits. We're new at this. Never even been to a State Park yet. Just want a 55+ park with a nice pool, friendly folks. We're not super active people who need lots of parties & events. Ran into a full-timer today when daughter was getting windshield ding fixed who suggested '40 Acres' in Tucson. Want to get something arranged for a month here, month there, or both months somewhere because if we have to drive around night-to-night that can run into more money. Will keep looking.

If you want warmth, come to Yuma.

Laughlin would not be our choice for two months - unless all you like to do is gamble. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you want to be in that area, try for Lake Havasu. Sedona or Tucson would be our first choice. Or book at some of Arizona's nice state parks and move around the state to try out different areas for your next visit. Another idea for March would be the southern Utah national parks if you haven't been to them..or the Grand Canyon. It's best to stay at lower elevations during February. Tucson would work well or along the Colorado River around Havasu. We like to move around and explore different areas and not stay in one place. There are many options for you. Have fun!

We use Bullhead City/Ft. Mohave area for our hub all winter. From there we can go in all directions and find something interesting. Big Box stores, casinos, desert or Colorado River. Yuma, Vegas, Pomona, Grand Canyon, Sedona, all just a few hours away

If you like hiking and beautiful scenery, Catalina Mountains State Park north of Tucson is a great choice that time of year. And, as was mentioned, Buckskin Mountain SP near Lake Havasu. Be sure you avoid that area during spring break, though. Unless you really like crowds.

I also hear a lot of Positive comments on Palm Springs.

Going from camping in one metro area(Mesa) to another in Palm Springs would not be my choice! Go to Yuma and report back! Feb-March are the two busiest months, so book something now!

Feb is a cold month. Lower the elevation and as far South as possible will get you the best weather. Yuma or go South into Mexico; Kino Bay or Rocky Point in Sonora, Mexico or San Felipe in Baja.

"Just want to go somewhere friendly, clean, pets welcome (have two toy dogs along), decent weather"....Weather in Jan Feb can be a******shoot just about anywhere but FL. What do you enjoy doing....hiking, biking, walking, golfing, fishing, shopping, fine dining, cultural/sporting events, or just loafing ? Are you retired military, desire access to a military base/post ? Do you partake in the amenities offered by RV parks, pools, craft shops, pot lucks, bingo...or do you keep to yourselves ?

If you like to gamble, Laughlin-Bullhead City is a possibility. Have you been to southern Arizona - Tucson and further south?

BTW - do you like baseball. If so, the Phoenix area is the place to be in March when spring training is going - - 6 games going every day!

Also think about the Sedona area.
