Fort Worden State Park - Port Townsend, Washington

As some may have found out, you couldn't make reservations at Fort Worden State Park for a few months while they switched over to the state system. Before, they had always been on their own reservation system. It is open for reservations now at parks.wa.gov
You might find you want a site and it says your equipment is too big for some of the sites on the beach. Believe me, if you camp on the beach almost all sizes will fit in the sites. For some reason, the back in sites think you need a small rig. You can just pick a small size and go from there. I don't know if they are going to fix that, but I talked to the ranger and he said that is what they are telling people to do.

For the past few years, reservations have been a mess. Hopefully this will fix things. We work as camphosts 4 months out of the year there. We were playing with the new site yesterday and did find that the summer is pretty booked up - especially on the weekends.

Sometimes we get up at midnight to get the best sites or in the most popular CG's, use the cheat method ๐Ÿ˜‰

Got up at 7am yesterday to make my reservation for mid week in Aug and beach campground only had about 6 sites left. Went back later in the day and both campgrounds booked full. If you want to get in this summer best to jump on it fast...

We highly recommend this park if you're in the area. As far as the reservation site being incorrect on the site size, this happens all the time to many parks. Our 40' motorhome has fit with room to spare in 30' sites.
