Is there a guide or book that shows the camp grounds in different areas.

There is a guide for that, it's google.com. Just search "campgrounds in whatever area", without the quotes, and google will find them for you.

RVParkReviews.com is a good starting point, but if a campground hasn't been reviewed yet, it won't be on the web site. The seasonal campground we stay at has been around since the 1960s, but it is not on RVParkReviews.com. There is another campground about 15 miles away that is also not on RVParkReviews.com.

Start with Google and then search RVParkReviews.com for what people are saying about the campgrounds you find.

Probably the easiest, fastest, and least expensive "guide" for campgrounds, is to just do an internet search by typing in the name of the city, town, or location followed by the word, "Campground", and you'll get pretty much everything in that area listed.

For example, Nashville, Tennessee, campground. You'll get hits on local, private, county, state, and federal campgrounds in that area.

And remember, every state has a DNR (Department of Natural Resources) that lists the State campgrounds too, and links to make reservations.

Don't underestimate the KOA.com web site for searching for KOA campgrounds, and GoodSam has a pretty decent campground search feature too.

The internet is going to be more current, more relevant, and give you the ability to make reservations on-line...much easier than dragging around outdated books.

two are the KOA book and Passport America. be aware that there are KOA haters here, and you will get biased comments. PA is a good value if you can use it twice a year, but check the web site for locations, restrictions, etc. AAA has a camping manual(s) for various locations also.

If there are most will be outdated as soon as they hit the shelves.
Web sites like RVPark review do a fairly decent job of it. At least they are peer to peer reviews not something written by a single person.
