Frustrated with Reserve America

Anyone else constantly getting errors when trying to book a campground via Reserve America?

I never had this problem before they "updated" their system and changed their website last year.

I've emailed and complained to no avail. Perhaps if they'd get more complaints they would do something to fix it!

I use RA every year, usually several times, and have never had a problem.

Good Deal. I wish that there were many more camping spots in the Keys, so more people could enjoy it. It is such a unique and beautiful area.

Unfortunately, the environment there is very sensitive and thus development rules are rightful very strict.

Good Luck, I really hope it works out for her.

I have found that if you are very general with RA you will have no problems. If you use the "a park with" button or the a "spot with" button, it almost guarantees that you will have a problem.

Please explain to your daughter:

It is simple math:

1. Number of State Parks in the Florida Keys: 4

2. Number of RV sites available in all 4 parks added together: 221

3. Number of Tent only sites. (Canโ€™t be used for RVโ€™s): 30

4. Number of people from all over the country that want to camp in the Keys in the winter, on any given day?

Thousands and thousands from all over the country.

The problem is even worse with the cabins. There are only 6 cabins at BH. They are about 1/2 the price, per night, of hotels in the area. She is competing for one of six, during high season, when there are literally thousands of other people trying for a spot.

It's not the browser or cookies; it's the RA system itself according to a buddy of mine who works in their tech. Regardless of which browser used the glitches appear. It's not the type of camp either; like Yahoo they have major system issues which makes me concerned about the actual security of their system since it uses our credit card numbers.

Only been RV'ing seriously for a year or so but have used the site several times, including 5-6 reservations in Feb. Cancelled a couple and got prompt refunds. I would say I am pleased with it. Wish it had a better map function with parks on it. Current one is a bit difficult.

My daughter ( does not camp ) swears the are rigged ๐Ÿ™‚ She was trying to get cabins in Bahia Honda for next Christmas / New Years to match our camping reservations which may explain her frustration.

I wonder if the difference in people's experience is which entity they are making reservations for. Particular state or county, or even different fed agencies. Seems to me they could have specified that the senior pass is not honored. No indication of any kind was given.

I have never had a problem with RA either in the past or since the update. In fact, I just made reservations for three different Oregon state parks for early September and had no issues.
