Gatlinburg Campgrounds & Trolley questions

Hello,

Thinking of taking a trip to Gatlinburg this July / August. I am trying to find a nice campground to stay at and when I went on RV Park Reviews there are 84 campgrounds that come up. WOW!

It will be my wife and I and we travel with 3 cocker spaniels. We want a pool and the more room around camp site the better. We are 60 so no playgrounds or jungle jims etc. are required. I want full hookups. water sewer and 50amp electric.

I found one that seemed nice the Twin Creek RV Resort and it states it is on the trolley line.

Has anyone stayed here recently and how would you rate it?

Has anyone used the trolley service and what is it like? costs?

Is there a better campground than Twin Creek?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you are just looking for a nice campground, you might check out Smoky Bear Campground. We stayed there two years ago and will be going back there this June. It is a very nice campground, but it is 13 miles from Gatlinburg.

OP here,

We have only been there one other time and the park was in Sevierville at a park that was not bad but small sites and a cement factory right next door. Can't remember the name.

I really do not care about Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg as long as it is on the Trolley Line.

Thanks!

We have stayed at Twin Creeks several time. Very convenient location on the trolley route, near restaurants and the craft route. Has a dog area, and store. A little costly but worth the price.

Twin Creek will serve your needs with sites that are as spacious as they get in the area, which means that they are not big and roomy as you may like but not sardine style either. River plantation is in Sevierville and is nice and though I have never stayed there the reviews are good because it has good amenities. Pine Mountain is on the list also as being a nice park though that is in Pigeon Forge. Look them up.

The trolly is a great way to get around. I believe they do have a website so google that for route info and schedule. Its inexpensive. If a park is not on the trolly stop list then you can drive to Patriot Park where it is the hub and catch it to everywhere it goes. There is a lot to choose from here.

Upon looking at RVPARKY I came across Camp LeConte Luxury RV park. Never been there but it may be worth you looking at.
