Are there ever discounts, coupons, promo codes, for the train? Man, it's pretty expensive!

No vehicle washing at GCRW RV park. Nice park, slots are a little small.
All the employees are friendly & helpful.

Our Old English Sheep dog isn't fond of all the lava rock (or lack of grass) but its a minor issue even for her 😉

They have a nice shuttle that will pick you up at the RV park & run you to w/in a block of main, they'll pick you up at the same drop off & deliver you back to your slot too.

Washers & dryers are on the small side (but there is a good size laundry mat in town) - the laundry mat in town changes the same & has larger washers/dryers.

If you want to stay at one spot for 3 hours looking at the same thing at midday when colors are all washed out you can say you have been to the Grand Canyon. You SEE the Grand Canyon by being there at sunrise and sunset for the true colors and shadows - all along the many spots on the South Rim. Hiking down is a plus for those who can / want to do it. Same with a raft trip. (BTW, years past we did some hiking but not down to Phantom Ranch; nor have we taken a raft trip. But we have seen a LOT of beautiful sunrises and sunsets)

We're still in Trailer Village - the rate is very reasonable & the commute to the canyon cant be beat - well worth the money imo ! The slots are wide & its been VERY quiet.

If i were "dry camping" i'd have spent more money running the generator & dealing with tank levels than Trailer Village has cost us.

The rate we got for GCRW RV Park in WIlliams is reasonable & imo par w/ what we are paying at Trailer Village ... i dont know why people think anything over 20 or 30 a night is expensive....after having bought an RV & paid fuel bills.

Depends on what you want to see. Some would say that if you do not hike the canyon you haven't seen it.

If you are going to SEE the Grand Canyon and not just say you have been there you have to stay at Trailer Village or, if not too large, Mather. To drive from Williams or take the expensive, hokey train ride and spend 2-3 hours there is not SEEing the place.

Best experience is to boondock in Forest Service areas one of which is at the entrance to Tusayan, AZ. Forest Service road FR 302 Tusayan, Arizona GPS: 35.964619, -112.108658 The road in is Gravel. There are 6-15 campsites at this location and the maximum RV length is any. You may stay 14 nights at Kaibab FR 302 West. Free.

Lots of hiking, quiet, pine trees, and an occasional helicopter flying over. From there, 1 mile to the park entrance.

I am sure they don't as Williams is in a severe water shortage. They are really pushing and even requiring conservation regarding use of water.

I do have a direct number to the RV parks office/store. They cannot take reservations at that number but can provide information and specific site selection after you've already been given a confirmation # at the 800 number. PM me if you'd like the #.

that 800 number is not directly connected to the park - its a reservation/agent number - they know only whats written on their paper.

FWIW - they also require jack pads, neither of which are a problem.

it would take A LOT of windex to clean 42 feet of coach & jeep - not to mention WINDEX is not good for painted surfaces

the same thing occurred to us at Trailer Village - no one knew....and when we pulled up their rules (listed in the office) prohibit washing of vehicles.

I doubt they allow RV washing. This is the only park in which I've stayed that required the stinky slinky to elevate your sewer hose, even though it is over rocks.

You can always do it the way I do: spot clean with Windex. Never had a problem.

Their RV park is Passport America, 50% discount except in summer.
