Help finding a spot for the family

This coming week is spring break for the kiddos. We are late in getting reservations. We tried to find a spot on the beach in southern Cal, but they are all booked. We tried to look in the North rim of the grand canyon, again all booked. Does anyone have any rv parks or boondocking places we can go. I don't want to just drive around the and hope we find a good spot, I am all about having things planned (just not this trip).
Looking for
Southern Cal beach
North Rim of Grand Canyon
Southern Utah

Thank you in advance

The information is out there, all you have to do is let it in.

Dinosaur Nat'l Monument at Vernal, Utah

Page, Arizona - slot canyon or boat tour; dam tour

Lake Havasu City, AZ area and one of the state parks

Prescott, AZ - Point of Rocks campground

Cottonwood, AZ - Cottonwood StatePark (near Sedona)

Grand Canyon - SOUTH RIM - if you can't get into one of their 3 campgrounds, try Williams, AZ (As stated, North Rim is not open yet so online it might show the sites are not available)

Flagstaff, AZ - some Indian ruins to tour and Meteor Crater - could stay at Munds Park just south of Flagstaff - lots of activities for kids

Kodachrome State Park near Bryce -- they have hookups. How old are your kids, and do you hike? Mountain bike? Some great slot canyons near Kodachrome. Do you have a four wheel drive vehicle?

If you are in the Las Vegas area, Kodachrome can be reached in a one day drive -- it's less than 300 miles.

The North Rim is not open until May 15th at the earliest. Depending on snow cover:

NRGCNP

That bit about spring break is confusing since they are talking about the South Rim not the North.

What about Death Valley? Kings Canyon/Sequoia?

The jacbos lake looks very nice but tried to call and the are not open till mid may. The North Rim campground is full.
If you call the campground directly can you get a better answer on availability?

The North Rim is already open? They usually don't open until much later. To get to the North Rim you will drive thru miles and miles of National Forest which has lots of boondocking sites of of Hwy 67. Just before you enter the actual park there are NF roads leading both ways off of 67 and there are boondocking sites back there.

Furthermore Jacobs Lake the town outside the park/forest has a decent private CG. Look that up in RVParkReview.com There is a National Forest office in Jacobs Lake too where you can get maps and advice.

North Rim wasn't booked, it's just not open yet. Sometime in mid-May is the usual date.

It's a tough week to go somewhere w/o reservations. Lot's of spring breaks this week. Don't know what rig you have, but South CG at Zion is first come first served but no hookups. Get there on a Sunday around noon and grab a spot from someone heading home.

Or how about Red Rock Canyon just outside Las Vegas. Again, no hookups and no reservations, so hit it on a Sunday Morning.

Maybe something around Tucson? Catalina SP seems to be pretty booked up, but there may be other options.
