Something happened to the other thread.

Now I need advice on how to winterize my RV. I've never had to do it.

that is the first purchase one should make if the RV didnt come with one. I couldn't mount it on the intake of the pump without major carpentry/destruction so put it on the output side and just use a boat bilge pump to pump the antifreeze in.

Yes, it saves some effort, but that's not its primary purpose. A By-Pass kit allows you to fill the hot water lines with antifreeze without first filling the hot water heater with antifreeze. It's more about saving the expense of 6 to 8 gallons of antifreeze than minimizing effort.

IMHO, get your reservation back, and forget about the winterization.

If there is one thing about the US economy, it hates uncertainty. Which means more then likely your Loonie will be looking better all the time during the next 6 months. I would say more, but I understand forum rules. :W

Your asking about winterizing so that should be your title.

I "assume" it is because winterizing would not be needed if the trip to mesa was still on, but yet, a better response would be received if the heading concerned the real issue.

I winterize my rig by towing it one thousand miles south.

Major focus for winterizing an RV is the removal of all water from the plumbing system along with any items that can be harmed by sub-freezing temps. Process it pretty simple overall and starts with emptying tanks including hot water and opening low drain points. Some follow up with using an air compressor to further remove water from the lines. Many RVs come with a bypass kit already installed near water heater to add RV antifreeze with minimal effort. If you have an exterior shower be sure that it is winterized properly as it is easy to forget. We keep our rig plugged in over the winter and batteries stay charged, many who don't plug in remove batteries and periodically charge or trickle charge them.

does your RV has a winterizing pick up hose/valve to draw antifreeze in without putting it in the fresh water tank? if not, getting one should be your first step.
