Wahweap is a nice CG. If you stay there, you are within a short walk of the boat tours of the lake and other included amenities such as the resort hotel pool and park ranger talks, as I recall. Don't miss the tour of Glen Canyon Dam - you need to make a reservation and provide ID. Fascinating to go down inside it and also walk on top, and the films are worth seeing.

We moved over from Wahweap to the CG in Page itself for convenience at the end of our visit to take an excellent guided raft tour on the Colorado River the next day which departed from the town. The tour operator provided bus transport from their office to the raft dock at the start, and picked you up at Lee's Ferry at the conclusion to return to Page.

I highly recommend all three tours, boating above the dam, inside the dam, and rafting below - really enjoyable and gives you a full picture of that controversial project.

We stayed at Page Lake Powell CG a few months back. Affordable, safe, the typical parking lot style but nice indoor pool and hot tub. Page was a pleasant surprise for us. Pretty amazing sites to see within a few miles of the CG.

Here are the RV parks:

Are you planning to stay a few days or just driving through for an overnight?

We stay north of town on Hwy 89 at Lone Rock boondocking area. We stay on the upper level just beyond the ranger station on the left. Beautiful view of the lake. It cools down nicely at night so if arriving late in the day this would be doable for an overnight but not any longer in summer although the beach area is crowded with RVers. You have to be careful driving on the lower beach area because some areas are very soft. We like the upper area.

If you are 62+ and have your Golden Age Passport camping and entrance fees to the national recreation area are free to enter and 1/2 price on camping.

I will say that if you're planning during the summer it's extremely hot there and you'll want electric at a RV park.

Wahweap is very good; not cheap anymore but very good. I can remember when they were up the hill at the old sight and it was $5 / night.

Wahweap RV and Campground might be the best view, also the most expensive.
Page Lake Powell Campground on 98 in town might be a better buy.
Lees Ferry Campground is dry camping. Hot in the summer.
