I believe that there are now 362 Parks, Monuments, and Battlefields run by NPS.

We have visited 194 of them.

We just got home from a 24 day, 3600 mile trip. Traveling thru 16 states, we only added one new national park.... Acadia in Maine. However, we spent 4 days in DC and went to all the National Monuments. We have now been to 40 of our 48 lower states. This was a great trip thru New England.....but no grits anywhere!!

Of the current 59, I've managed to visit 36 in my first 50 years. I'd have more except I have a habit of going back to my favorites over and over, like my 6th trip to Yellowstone this summer.

Of the remaining on my bucket list, Glacier Bay, Katmai, and Dry Torugas top the list

I've lost count which isn't bad since I haven't retired yet. Do have an old map where I keep marking off the ones I visited.

Good thing - I have visited a LOT, somewhere around 100 if I count parks and monuments

Great thing - I still have a lot left to visit for future trips and retirement. ๐Ÿ™‚

We've been to:
Mammoth Cave National Park
Smoky Mountains National Park
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Chickamauga National Military Park

Favorites were Mammoth Cave, Smoky Mountains and Cuyahoga Valley. Least favorites were Sleeping Bear Dunes and Chickamauga.
