Thinking of going to Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort in Casa Grande, AZ for Jan-March 2015. For those of you who have stayed there, does it fill up during that time frame? Do I need a reservation, and if so, how early should I make it? Did you enjoy your stay? Thanks for the help.

I'm fine with walking the course, and I see it's a short course. I'm hoping it's not full wall to wall most of the day, though. I'm thinking maybe we should try a couple of weeks there.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Stayed there Dec'12 - Jan'13 when the sun goes down so does the temperature - very rapidly. Golf course is walk only so if you need a cart -as I do - tough luck. Interesting area though. If you like Country music, Marty Haggard (yes Merle Haggards son) has a theater in town and puts on a great show of his and his dad's music. Good area to explore the dessert and only an hour from Phoenix suburbs like Apache Junction. Well worth the trip. Hope you enjoy!

How's the golf course at Palm Creek? In decent shape? Crowded during the winter? Thanks.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Nice park, get to listen to train whistles all night, sirens from the fie/ambulance/ hospital nearby ... it's real special when the dairy out back pumps it's liquid manure in the middle of the night.

Have they fixed all the potholes yet??? Pretty bad a couple of years back.

I agree, nice park and has a lot going for it including less costly from Palm Creek, but not on the same level. Palm Creek is what many call a 5 star park.

I live across the street from Palm Creek in a home now and Palm Creek is never full. As others have said it is so large they always have a space for you. I believe the first time visitors can get a week free or some such offer. Take them up on it, and enjoy the area. Yes we sometimes get dust, other areas of the US get tornadoes but it is not an everyday occurrence. Shopping is close, many nice eating places and it is a safe area.Palm Creek is a very active place, well run and they have all kinds of activities and are well attended. They have a pet and non pet sections. Come on down and enjoy the winter.

We have visited Palm Creek since 2002. We must like it as we plan to be there again in October. #564 is our site so come and see us if you come. I don't think the resort has ever been 100% full because it is BIG. Over 3000 palm trees to trim and it is being done at this time.

We have toured Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort in Casa Grande. It is a very large park as Larry has noted. It is a beautiful park with nice amenities. It has a high percentage of park models and is ran in a very structured manner by on site park management. Seats in some of the craft shops are "owned" by regulars! "Sorry that is my spot!"

Dust storms on I-8 and I10 in that area can be very dangerous. Here are a few tips. http://www.tucsonnewsnow.com/story/2168129/safety-tips-driving-in-a-dust-storm

There are also stock yards in the area and the associated aroma that go along with them.

Retail shopping in the area has increased a lot in recent years.

I hope you enjoy your stay as so many others do like Larry and his wife who have been returning for many years.

There are so many choices in the greater Phoenix area that makes it so that there is not one best choice. I asked my parents why they returned to Yuma year after year and they said because of the "friends" they met the first winter.

Enjoy your stay!

Just be aware that the area gets some horrific dust storms. They had one today. We got caught in a couple during winter traveling from Tucson to Phoenix. The area is cotton farming so there's lots of dust.
