Lately there has been a lot of interest in viewing photos of the sites that different campgrounds have to offer. Let's start posting them to this thread and if there seems to be enough interest, perhaps we can make the thread a permanent sticky.

If you have recently posted photos of this sort, please re-post them here. If you have new ones to share, please do!

Don't forget to label the photos: Campground name, site #'s if you know them, area of campground, etc.

I am taking the liberty of copying here some recent photos submitted by member 'marites62'.

Fishing Bridge - This is site 60 in the B loop - back-in, full hookups (It can be tough for long trailers and 5th wheels):

More of the same site:

Colter Bay Village - This is site 40, Pull through, full hookups. It is at the end of the loop which was nice.

My VERY favorite place to sleep !!! Our bed hanging over Lake Lanier, just down the street from home...with today's gas prices, we feel very fortunate to have such a nice campground close by..we have had so many fun camping trips here.

Here's a combination of pics. from our trip to "George L. Smith State Park" and "Magnolia Springs State Park" in middle, eastern Georgia...We camped at George L. Smith and went on a day trip to Magnolia Springs, not far away.....both parks are fantastic !! George L. Smith campground is on a lake with huge cypress trees and the park has an old mill from 1880...Magnolia Springs has a crystal clear spring with turtles galore and many alligators...also was the site of a Civil War prison...we loved both of these parks and can't wait to go back !!

THE VIEW FROM OUR CAMPSITE :

In IL you can reserve specific sites, and as soon as that reservation window opens they're gone. I can never get them. Plus, I can't plan too much in advance. Our parks do keep sites that are only first come/first served, however. They're also hard to get if they're waterfront. At the lake nearest us, friends save the site. They only pull out when their friends are pulling in. Such a coincidence. lol

Thanks..this was our first time camping at Vogel and it couldn't have been better...we had been on day trips before and never thought we'd get the site we had, which was #59....at GA State Parks you can't reserve "specific" sites, you are just guaranteed "a" site...some folks don't like that system, however we do...otherwise I think these sites would always be booked with no chance of getting it....we showed up on a Wednesday morning in April and had several to chose from on the creek...by the weekend they were all full as was most of the park...not all sites here are on the water, but there is water flowing all through the campground which we just love...talk about peaceful sleeping !! I'm assuming the water flows all year, since our day trips were in fall and winter and it was flowing..... The first waterfall picture is in the park, the other just a couple of miles outside the park...and yes, I had a hard time getting husband out of the hammock ๐Ÿ™‚ We love Vogel State Park.

This looks like my "dream" campsite!!! I love to hear water like this and have wished to find a CG with sites like this. What site # were you in? Does the water run all year, or does it dry up at some point? Thanks for sharing! Hope we can get there some day!

Bakerkids we looked at that site when we were up there 3 weekends ago for a marriage retreat our church treated us and 6 other couples to, some of the CG's up there are a little tight for me but some of those sites that are on a little outcrop of land are awsomesome.

Darwin

Darwin, did you mean the sites are short? Some are very long and level, but there some some short and unlevel. You never know. I usually write the site numbers down of those I like. Did you visit the four other campgrounds at Rend? Did you stay there during the retreat?

Our church camp is located by a small lake, and I sometimes take my T@B there during youth camps, but for couples' retreats they like us to stay in the "dorm-style" rooms. Sending some "off" to a park would be great, though!

I wish i could remember the names of the CG's at Rend Lake, then i could be more exact on which sites we liked, by tight i mean to close together, and the ones on the points of land were tent sites i think, but they were very big and open, and right out on the points, we stayed in the cabins at the lodge.
