Good. I hate these things.

But you dont have to click on it. I must be strange because if the title even sounds like I'm not interested I just dont click. Are you ready for me to message you more Clinton meme? :).

$78,000 is piddly for the national parks. It wouldn't even begin to do anything for ONE park, much less all of them. It would be like a $5 paycheck for your family to run your household.

Will be interesting to see if he shuts down the parks when budget come around.

That is about the most ridiculous and insane statement I have ever heard. $78,000 will do NOTHING for even a SINGLE park.

Total horshit.

Mike

I think what 2gypsies was saying is that $78,000 is not going to do anything for the running of the parks. It would allow for a one-time upgrade/repair/etc., but in the long run the parks will still be in the same situation as they are now.

No check but we've contributed thousands of volunteer hours to the national parks.

Sorry, but his donation won't even pay to pump out all the outhouses in Yellowstone.

Kudos to the Resident Rump, though it won't touch the 12 billion dollar maintenance backlog. Now if he would write a check for all the taxes he's dodged...

I haven't donated to NPS, however I regularly donate to other organizations. If everyone donates to NPS, then no other charity/organization would get a donation. And while I haven't donated a quarter's worth of salary, I have donated enough to equate if not exceed the percentage of income that Trump's $78,000 contribution represents.

No money but considerable time as a volunteer with the NPS.

For a guy with Trump's dough the money he donated is no more sacrifice than if I gave a penny; for him it is truly insignificant. How much anyone else gives or doesn't give has no bearing on that.

Then go on to another thread and communicate about "RV'ing" to your hearts content. If National Parks are not a topic that qualifies for discussion in an RV forum, then what exactly does? And while everyone has a position on the current president, donating to the NPS, as opposed to any other entity, does say something positive.

I think the original post is a news item about the parks, and that is fine. (I am not a Trump supporter, but the OP's post was perfectly appropriate.) Then the thread devolved into politics, both for and against the President. I do not come here for politics, if I can avoid the subject at all.

I admit that the line is hard to draw -- for example, when we are discussing park service polices on fees, one's view of fees depends in part on one's view of federal taxing and spending. But I think there is a line we can all try not to cross.

If I want to discuss politics, I gather my family at the dinner table, and I let them know what they think. ๐Ÿ˜‰
