Refund at Gulf State Park?

We are currently staying at Gulf State Park. Paid for a week at the weekly rate but may have to leave a few days early. Does anyone know if they give refunds? I called the office but got such a convoluted answer that I gave up!

Reserve America is the monster here, don't blame the locals. They are out of the loop now.

We left early this morning. Last night the gentleman at the front desk was not able to figure out the policy and said to "talk to the girls" who came in at 8:00 am. It's not a big deal, but it seems like every time I talk to people in the office there (on the phone or in person) I seem to get lots of different answers and no one seems to be able to explain the various policies concerning reservations, etc. It's all good-we had a great couple of days in paradise!

We're talking about $100 or less for 2-3 days and you're on site but you took the time to post here to ask?

How about stopping in the office or checking their own policy on the State website.

As mentioned, calculate the daily rate for the time you plan to stay and compare to what you have paid for the week. Then talk to the office staff. Two summers back, we had rented a site in western Colorado for $450 a month plus electric. However at the end of 25 days we decided to leave early. I calculated the daily rate for 25 nights and it was over $700. So I stopped in the office and paid my $30 electric bill and told them my site would be empty the remainder of my reservation.

So I saved about $250 over the daily rate. The owner thanked me for my business and I told him, we would be back the following summer.

Most likely they will either not give refunds or will recompute you rate to the daily rate and then calclate your refund. They likely will also add a cancellation fee. Only fair since they have not had the opportunity to try and re-rent the site for the days you are leaving and you have not fullfilled the commitment to stay a week to earn the weekly discount.

Usually you get better service from those in the office than over the phone.

If you're already staying in the park why not walk to the office and ask? They would be the ones giving you the refund, not us.
