RV Park between Pismo Beach & Los Angeles, CA

We are going to be going down I-5 from the North (Bend, Oregon and across to Redding, anyway would like to visit relatives both in Pismo Beach area and in Torrance (Los Angeles) areas.

We would like to find an RV Park about 1/2 between the two places, whereby we can stay 3 or 4 days to visit both sets of relation.

May be shooting in the dark, but still planning this late Spring 2015 trip has been quite the experience for us.

Last time we stayed in Pismo Beach, and then moved to Banning as at that time we have relation also in San Diego, this time only have Pismo Beach as well as Torrance.

Oh, and we are not familiar with the area around Los Angeles, so any helps would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Flying Flags RV in Buellton is nice although not 1/2 way. Solvang is a fun town to explore. We often stay at Valencia Village RV Park at the junction of highway 126 and I-5. We prefer 126 to I-5 south rather than deal with congestion on 101 south/east of Ventura.

I also agree with tpi. I live in Pasadena, and go to Pismo regularly. It is a 3 hour drive - longer to/from Torrance. For me, the half way point would be Santa Barbara. But there are only two RV parks nearby - one is awful, the other is very expensive (near $100 a night and definitely not worth it).

The drive to/from Pismo to Santa Barbara would not be bad. The drive to Torrance? awful!

I would stay Pismo Coast Village in Pismo, and Golden Shores in Long Beach, if you want RV parks. If you could go with a camp ground, there are more options, esp up at Pismo.

LA traffic being what it is, Pismo Coast Village and Golden Shores would be my choices. I've stayed in both several times.

Santa Barbara is VERY RV/Big rig unfriendly.

I did think of one other mid point possibility-Carpenteria State Beach. But I do think he'd be happier staying closer to Torrance.

Halfway in between could be Ventura or Lake Casitas. Personally given your schedule I'd stay in Pismo Beach for a couple days ( RV parks to choose from), then move to Dockweiler (near Torrance for a couple more). If you do stay halfway, you'll have to contend with traffic at times on the southern leg to Torrance and some traffic through the heart of Santa Barbara going north.
