Thanks for the info. folks.
Made a reservation at Chula Vista in January....expensive but splurged and got bay view for 3 weeks. Currently at Mesa Spirit RV Resort...3 months for $700.

Watch for their monthly news letters that often have discounts for the current month. If something comes up you can have it applied before your visit.

Just made a reservation and they asked what year my RV was. They don't care how old just that it isn't a junker. I've seen older RV's there on every visit but most are in decent shape. They're not that picky.

My first choice would be Santee Lakes! The others are ok but Santee is great.

The only comment I would make about Santee Lakes is it's geared for small kids, lots for them to do. We've stayed there once with the grandkids and it was fine. We would not stay there otherwise. Never been to CV but hope to someday, I've heard very good things about that place.

We just recently stayed at the Chula Vista resort! We had a bayview site which was great. The park is clean, quiet, and well run. WiFi and cable worked great. The only negative is that the sites are close together and only about 24' wide, the streets are tight and we have a 33' fifth wheel.

Depends on what you like. We have stayed at both. We prefer the KOA as we have kids and the KOA is kid friendly. Chula Vista was a very nice resort, but for the adult crowd. Too many restrictions for the kids.We ended up going to the park often at Chula Vista so the kids could let out some energy.

Been to both. Prefer Chula Vista. Also like the community. Strong latino culture mixed with some italian and a few others. Very fun area.

Chula Vista is a very nice place, but yes, avoid the sites that are closest to the ocean - There is a parking lot and park between you and the ocean. We were there once, and on weekends there were six ice cream trucks circling the parking lot - all playing different music. One was playing Christmas music and it was July!

Been to Chula Vista RV many times. Very nice park. All paved roads, level spots. The park is very nice but since its far south on the bay there is no real beach here. The park is geared more to the adult crowd although theres always some kids. KOA is also nice but is more of a campground than an RV resort. It is geared more for families.

We stayed at th Chula Vista seveal years ago and it was a clean park. The older section was not a good fit for RVs with slides on both sides.

I have stayed at both and they are both very nice. But we Like Chula Vista RV Resort as it is near the bay. The Chula Vista KOA is further inland.

Have stayed several times at Chula Vista. It is on the water. Pricey but worth it.
