We are planning a trip next year to the Shenandoah National Park.
We need full hookups and are looking for recommendations.
We're planning on hiking, kayaking, hopefully some flyfishing and a trip to DC Smithsonian area.

Will be meeting up with others. We're coming from VT and other from FL. Any recommendations?

Just came home from that area today! Stayed at Outlanders River Camp in Luray Va. Beautiful well maintained campground with full hookups (except TV) located right on the Shenandoah River (3/4 a mile of Shenandoah River frontage for fishing). Only 15 minutes away from Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive. Big open sites with lots of room. We will be going back as soon as we can, highly recommend!

Luray KOA We were there some yrs ago before it switched over to a KOA but still gets great reviews. Centrally located to the NP, Luray Caverns.

There's a lazy local river a few miles from the campground that probably fits the bill for kayaking. Also there's a tubing company that will drop you off up the river, it's about 3 hrs and great family fun!

The KOA in Luray would be my choice.

We second the Endless Caverns C/G !! we have stayed there, the caverns are cool and there is also Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and Battle Field nearby. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!!

My bad. There is no KOA in New Market, VA. But Endless Caverns in New Market, VA is a good campground. There is also a KOA in Staunton, VA. As for state parks Shenandoah River / Andy Guest near Bentonville, VA is very nice.

You won't find full hookups in the park itself. And there is a 12'8" clearance at Marys Rock just south of US211. However, there are some good campgrounds on both sides of the drive. Here are 5 of them:

Outlanders River Camp
Luray, VA

Shenandoah Valley Campground
Verona, VA

There are KOA's in New Market, Luray and north of Harrisonburg, VA
