We are going to be doing our yearly family get together in Florence this year. Last year we had 5 different RV's and close to 20 people kinda overlapping.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a campground there?? We have a few requirements

Full hookups

group friendly

OK with motorcycles (have dirt bikes for dunes and street bikes)

Any ideas??

Off topic, but if you like Thai food, Best Thai is amazing. It's one block west of Safeway.

Beat kept secret in Florence is Harbor Vista Campground past the Coast Guard station. It is run by Lane County and you can make reservations on line. All sites have water & electric and there is a dump station at the entrance. Overlooks the harbor channel and the Ocean. Great place.

ended up getting a place at Heceta beach. Less than .25 miles from the beach and right in the middle of where we want to go to. Now all I have to do is come up with lots of fun stuff to do!!

Chris might be worth a call, but more then just the noise from most the steep hill climb just getting out of the park on the dunes might be to much too.

Honeyman is right up against the Dunes, but if you are going during their peak season, basically May-Oct you can not ride out of the campground directly onto the dunes. If you can trailer your toys out it's a wonderful campground. Book early though. The H Loop sites tend to be a bit larger as they were expanded to handled ATVs during the Oct-April Off season when you cant right out of the campground on to the Dunes. Not all sites are full hook up.

Woahink Lake RV Resort is a nice campground and you can ride out of it with ATVs, they have a few ATV sites. But their rules are, "No 2 wheelers/dirt bikes" - you can contact them and check, they have strict rules to keep people in line but for those that are not a wild crowd they are pretty understanding.

Driftwood II also butts up to the Florence Dunes but there are no hook up's. It's more or less a parking lot.

Sand Dune Guide is a good resource to use as there are other campgrounds at other Dunes south of Florence if that is acceptable and if riding the dunes is important.

Since you want full hookups Woahink Lake RV Resort, they have access to the dunes for ATVs. http://www.woahinklakerv.com/ We have stayed there a few times, nice park. Dick

Both Jesse Honeyman and Carl G. Washurn State Parks are nice and have full hookups. Pacific Pines is a nice private park.
