Utah National Park tour

We are planning a trip to Utah to visit Arches, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks. We are not taking our toad so will only have 35 motor home. It looks like Arches and Bryce are okay to drive through but cannot find anything about Zion. Anyone got information on any or all of these parks. We have dogs so we cannot park and leave the RV. Thanks.

At Zion you could park at a nearby campground, leave the dog in the rig and take the shuttle that stops right near the campground.

Why not bring the towed? Then the dogs could ride with you. You won't be able to go to Zion though other than the shuttle. Also, the dogs wouldn't be allowed on trails - even short ones so you won't really be seeing all there is to see unless you take turns siteseeing.

The Zion shuttle is the best part, so don't bother with Zion. With the others you can drive through but you'll miss a lot.

But why? You're going to drive from IN and restrict yourself from the various facilities in these parks that add so much dimension to the experience plus difficulty of finding a open area to stop the RV that you can't leave. There are various stops that you won't see anything without a short hike.

My input would be to board the dogs or plan a trip that is more compatible with them.

Sssssssh about Cap Reef - we love it! We will be there (also Moab for Arches and Canyonlands) and Bryce again this Fall for the colors. Been to all several times. We do not go back to Zion anymore.

If you want, see www.LaurenBarbara.com and go to Wanderings link on left to Utah and National Parks - you will see the treat you are in for on all of these.

We did that loop in early sept. You can only drive so far in zion. Shuttles are used to get around. Bryce we drove everywhere. Arches you can drive but even in sept. many people and very hard to find a parking place. We went to Capital Reef and Moab this past June and had a great time. Of all those National Parks our favorite is Capital Reef!!! Just beautiful and not the crowds! That is a hidden little jewel. Have a great trip! Tara

Depends on the time of the year, though. I believe in the off season, you can drive through.

The only access into the canyon is the shuttle system. No pets allowed on the shuttles or on the trail system.
