Where's everyone going for Memorial weekend?

We're from Michigan, both of us work and we have 3 kids from 14 to 8. I'll admit that our geographical location has turned us into great lake snobs. Lake Erie is our least favorite, but we're going to give it a fair shot over Memorial weekend.

We're going to Maumee Bay state park in Ohio on Lake Erie. Hopefully do the drive through safari close by.
It's been ridiculously cold so probably won't be able to swim, but Erie is shallow so we'll see how it goes.

Where's everyone else going?

We don't do Memorial Day. Still lots of snow higher up here in CO so many places still aren't accessible, and everyone is crowded into less area than normal.

I'm so surprised how many people say they stay home on holiday weekends. No way !! We are from Pa and travel to Lancaster county every holiday weekend. Only 30 min away from our home. Very easy traveling among the horse and buggies !!

Just by chance, we will be hiking the Grand Canyon from the North Rim to the South Rim. That just happens to be the dates we received in the random process for the below rim campgrounds. The motorhome will be at Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas, NV since we weren't able to secure a campground at the South Rim.

We don't travel on major holiday weekends. To me, it's not worth fighting the traffic and crowds.

Leaving rv under cover and going to lake house with family in Alabama. We don't camp on holiday weekends.

The house.. Nowhere.
we will have just come back from the beach the weekend before. so we will put together a 16fott round pool for the grands and the wife> JOY JOY.

"great lake snobs" Never heard that before. Guess I'm a coastal Redwood snob! I stay home on holiday weekends. Too busy and leaves a space open for families with kids in school.

Decided long ago not to camp on holiday weekends anymore. So we go to our cottage. Canada Creek Ranch near Atlanta, MI.

I'm still working but no kids at home anymore. We avoid holiday weekends like the plague. So we'll be home Memorial day weekend. It's the weekend of the 18th - 20th that we'll be camping. We'll be in Door County, WI. No crowds. Weather is expected to be close to perfect for most of it. Looking forward to biking and hiking on some the Door County Land Trust trails.

We stay home on Holidays. We go during the week when its not as busy in the Parks. Retired for the last 17 yrs so we can go when we please
