Where to park 21' rv in San Francisco

We're in SF IN OUR 21' TOYOTA HUNTSMAN. WOULD LIKE TO PARK IN A FREE,LEGAL,SAFE PLACE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND STAY IN A HOTEL IN THE CITY. IT SEEMS THERE IS A RESTRICTION PREVENTING VEHICLES OVER 7 FEET HIGH FROM PARKING OVERNIGHT IN THE CITY. I ALSO READ THERE IS AN OVERSIZED VEHICLE RESTRICTION AT BART STATIONS. WE THOUGHT WE COULD PARK AT THE SOUTH SF BART STATION. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about if this is in a restricted zone, but you may check out Clement St., next to Lincoln Park and the VA hospital, between like 34th and 45th Avenue in the Richmond district. Perhaps the people at the VA hospital could tell you if it was legal. I did some reading and apparently there are zones where you can't park RV's at all, they are supposedly marked with signs, and overall there is a 72 hour limit for all vehicles. We haven't been up there in a while, but I recall seeing RV's parked alongside that street, don't know how long they were there. That isn't a particularly busy street in that area. HTH

Paid parking is hard enough to find in SF.
Free/safe/legal parking there is a fantasy.

Remember, land/house/rental prices there are the highest or wnd highest in the country.
Why you would think that there would be available free parking?

The nearest parking space in the Bay Area is somewhere south of Fresno.

Your best option would be to park it in an RV park nearby and then spend a couple of days in the city. True, that's not free. But it will be safe and legal. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

"FREE,LEGAL,SAFE PLACE"

I can't think of any place in the Bay Area that meets this requirement especially for several days.

The San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica is located near a BART station. You might check with them to see if they have any place where you could park your RV. I doubt they'd have anything for free, though. If you decide to stay in your RV, I highly recommend this park.

There is no "FREE, LEGAL, SAFE PLACE" to park in San Francisco...that is just the way it is...no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Free and legal is going to be difficult to find. Why not just stay in a RV park and skip the hotel.

The city is over crowded so free parking is tough to find. You may need to use BART from outside the city, park the RV somewhere like Dublin/Pleasanton to the east. Find an RV related business that will let you park in their parking lot.

Most cities now have large vehicle parking restrictions due to so many homeless using RVs to live in and parking willy nilly.
