There are couple around Santee Lakes - forget the names and on the "RED TRAIN" line to D/T Sandy Eggo - also a couple along I8 - east and at least 3 around El Centro - lots closer than Yuma.
Use RV Park Reviews.

I'll NEVER be an "EXPERT" (In math.X is an unknown factor and a "SPURT" is just a drip - under pressure)

I did go over to the website after posting. Really for those months it isn't a bad deal. Now of course come 1-1-2018 the picture changes greatly. And I did forget that they started charging for sewer and trash monthly.

Not per month...for the fall special, now Oct, Nov & Dec. By the way, we enjoyed it last year & are returning this year in spite of the increased cost...but it was a significant jump. Baby boomers & RVs are peaking. Supply & demand at work ??

RV crazy, is that a month or what. Jesse is probably just sitting back laughing. Probably be another mass exodus to other parks.

Cal-am Fortuna de Oro is nice, but the prices went way up for fall 2017 to 995... It's a long drive to San Diego, but if only visiting SD a few times, I'd do Yuma!

There is Santee Lakes in Santee close to I-8 and they have plenty of space and is a nice park.

I didn't mean to upset anyone by suggesting that their daughter could make reservations for them. She is entitled to use the campground and would not be taking a space from someone else. I am retired AF and can use these campgrounds and if I have family traveling with me and there is available space I can make reservations for them also.
I have a grandson in the army and when his parents go visit him he gets them quarters on the base.
I think that is great and they earned the right and so did he.

PS Fiddlers Cove is off base But if it wasn't she can get them a pass for the base

If the campground is on a military base, you will still have issues with access. Pretty sure you are limited to 14 days too at most.

We'll I've used the CG at mayport nas in Jacksonville, Florida where my grandson is stationed at several times, My granddaughter is stationed at Coronado NAS, Calif. I am put on a waiting list , your correct, the active, retired, get first shot, relatives of servicemen are last! and should be,

Why would anyone recommend using a family member's military status to procure a RV site at a military RV campground? These CGs are typically reserved for active duty and retired members and staying at such a CG takes away a site from those that are entitled to it. I am a veteran but am not entitled to stay at a military CG and would never consider using anyone else's name merely to stay at a convenient CG.

As Jack and Lynn said, Sun Ridge, and the 3 parks beside them, Western Sands, Adobe, and Sunset Palms. The 3 that I mentioned have about the same prices. They used to be owned by the same owner but an LLC. bought Western Sands, Adobe, and Sunset Palms. Electricity is extra. Basic RV parks, no fluff.

I don't know if this is possible but, There is a military campground just down the road and right on the bay. Your granddaughter may be able to mmake reservations for you as she is eligible to use the campground. She could just make the reservation in her name and I think that would be fine.
The phone number for the campground is 619-522-8681/8680. The name of the campground is Fiddlers Cove RV Park. Really nice and around $40 a night.
Hope this helps.
My wife's grandson is also stationed there.

$40/night X 30 nights/month = $1200/month. No savings

As a followup on the military campground in San Diego, check the military campgrounds website, www.militarycampgrounds.us There are also military campgrounds in El Centro and a couple of others, prices run as low as $450 a month with electric included.
Good luck.
