Home made slide out cargo tray

I want to build a cargo tray to go in the basement of my 5th wheel. I cannot afford the 500-600 dollars for a professionally built and installed one. There has to be an economical way to build one. My main objective is to get my tool box into an accessible position. I built slide out trays in the pantry's in my rv and they work good. Any logical and practical and cheap suggestions would be appreciated

I would think the roller spacing needed would depend largely on the amount of stuff you need to support. One foot would be more than sufficient, I believe; most garage doors have wider panels than that, maybe 18 inches or two feet, and said panels are not particularly lightweight. Some are downright heavy, even.

I have found some photos of a tray made from a garage door track and rollers but I cannot determine how close the rollers have to be together for a tray about 4-5 feet long. I just wonder if 1 foot apart is sufficient?

I made one for our Surveyor about 3 weeks before a tree limb went though the roof and totaled it out. I removed it and hope make adjustments in it so it will fit our new trailer. I will try to post pictures of what I did this evening whe I get home from work.

I want to build something like in my 5th wheel front pass thru storage. I want to make it so it pulls out either side. I will mount my mini lathe on one side and router table on the other. Table saw and other tools set in between.

Check the tool boxes they also have some pretty strong slides, we had a nut that used to take a siesta on the bottom drawer of his Snap-on tool box, 200+
pounds of character.

My feet are fine as long as they are traveling.

Long heavy duty drawer slides...up to 60", and capacity up to 500 lb can be found with a Google search...make a shallow tray or use 3/4" plywood for a flat platform and attach to the floor of the basement.

Can't find the link..But this topic has come up before
Several members have done this..including me
Search my posts and you will find some pictures and info

Good 24" heavy duty PANTRY slides will set you back about $130 for a pair
The rest is just marine grade 3/4" plywood and Aluminum Angle for mounting the wood to the slides
I'll post the picture links after I get to my pc..I'm on my tablet

I don't have pictures, but met a guy that made slide outs for his MH out of garage door tracks and rollers. Looked real good and worked.
