When driving down road and hit a dip on rd truck rear goes down and rear of trailer goes up throwing all hung clothes (where clothes closet is located) on to floor of closet
Any ideas on how to stop this, I'm not a fast driver and everything else in trailer stays in place It

I've had pretty good success with putting every other hanger in backwards. That way the the friction of the clothes against each other holds the hangers from jumping off the rod.

That sounds like a great idea. I will need to try that one myself. Thanks!

Many years ago we found out if you turn all your hanger hooks backwards( open hanger hook facing out instead of in) then none of our clothes fell off the pole. And we've bounced up in the air many times in our travels. Just last January I bent the electric stabilizer motor when going over some railroad tracks (cost $100 to replace)and still no clothes fell on the floor.

After reading the title to the post I thought you had one of those drying rods clothes hangers that go outside by the spare tire , no wonder your clothes were falling off while underway !

I assume our clothes are hung so close together it is not a problem for us. If we have clothes hanging on hangers over the shower curtain rod they stay hanging also. Sorry, no help.

We bought some Stay Put hangers from Camping World. They snap onto the rod and stay there during travel. Zip up or button the clothes all the way to top when you are on the road. We have used these hangers for three seasons now and have had absolutely no problem with clothes on the floor of the closet like we did without them.

X2, Until we got these hangers everything ended up on the closet floor.

Our clothes kept wanting to slide on the rod and fall so I put a length of swimming pool hose (corrugated)over the rod and the hangers seem to stay in place.

We use a bungee on the rod and over the front of the hangers.

Once the clothes are hung on the rod, just stuff an extra bed pillow in the space between the top of the rod and the top of the cabinet. Keeps the hangers from jumping off, and it stores the extra pillow for you...

Hey quit it..... a few more practical ideas like that and I'll have nothing to post about! :W :B

Our closet is very small so we don't have the problem either. How about pointing the open end of the hanger toward the front on some, toward the back on the others, then tying all of the hangers together?
