So currently my TT does not have an awning installed on it. I know come summer time I will want some extra shade outside. Is it difficult to install an awning? Any special hardware or tools I will need?

No it does not look as if it has ever had an awning. There is what looks like a gutter running down the TT. If that's the awning rail then yes it has one.
