Opinions wanted on tire monitors

Considering on buying these Tire pressure valve stem monitor. Anyone here used them?
What are your opinion? Gaget yes or no?

Not to hijack your thread, but I had TST and didn't like them for my trailer. They would work for a little while, then loose contact with my trailer. I have a Silverado and my trailer was 21ft long. I would pull up to the trailer and every single time, one or more tires would not register. I would have to go reset that/those tires. I would be driving down the road and get a notification that I was low or hot on a tire. Get out, check with IR gun and check pressure, no problems. It sent them back. I felt I had more issues with the TST system than I had with the tires. I know others have had no issues, but my personal issues made me not want them anymore. If I were going to go do it again, I would get the monitors that go into the rim on the backside of the stem. I hear those have better antenna's and will monitor better.

Wow thanks for the responses! Good points brought up such as metal stem, TST etc. Well got me convinced I'm going to check out the TST system.

My last incident the tread came off with no loss of pressure.
If I bought a system it would be built into the stem similar to what new vehicles have.

I had them. They wanted to leak after they were on for a while.

I thought those dohickys were the slickest thing and bought a set. All you have to do is look at them and you know if you have an issue! Modern technology is coming closer to science fiction every day, just amazing!

Then one of the things leaked and almost cost me a tire. Whats the odd's one in a 100,000 of getting a bad one??

I almost lost a $400 tire on my motorhome due to a valve extension leaking! Those were the big buck fancy ones. Whats the odds?

So no more dohickys for the tires, good enough for my grandpa, good enough for me. With the exception of the type that can be monitored.

TST for me.
I have metal stems on the trailer.
Pickup, 5 years old and still using original rubber stems.
Next tire change, changing out the stems.

A little better than nothing, IMHO. But only gives info when you are stopped.

I would spend a little and get a true tire pressure monitoring system. You really want to know if a tire goes low during that period when you are driving 65-70 mph for 2-3 hours at a time. Gives you time to stop before ruining a low tire on a slow leak. Or quickly stop if you have one suddenly go flat/blowout and you may not otherwise know it before ruining a wheel.

I have this TST TPMS. I like having the tires monitored WHILE I drive, not just when I stop and walk around the RV looking at the tire stems. If you are going to do it, do it right, and do it once.

Reprograming them is a PITA......Which is necessary when you change tires to ones with higher tire pressures.....Setting them up is also a PITA......

We put TMPS on both the TT and TV and love seeing pressure and temperature while going down the road. Gives both a sense of knowing what is going on and seeing if there are any changes. A digital gauge also assured me that both the gage and TMPS were accurate. Both of my old pencil gauges were off.

I have Tire Traker and metal valve stems. They add an extra measure of confidence and safety. Especially like them on the towed and carhauler.

I do not have these, but I wanted to make sure that you have steel valve stems to mount them to if you do end up buying them. If not, they will bend your rubber valve stems over as you drive down the road and eventually give you a flat. Ask me how I know. 😉

They might be better than nothing but you have to look at them before you start towing. You could use a gauge to do the same thing. I like the monitors that let me check the pressure while going down the road. It also gives me a audible warning if one gets low. TST is the brand I have but there are other good ones also.
