50 amp cord

We have a 50 amp, 25 ft power cord (which weighs a ton) for our Jayco HT. At a Camping World in Spokane last week, we bought a 15 ft 50 amp cord for when we need a short connection. We crossed the border into Canada on the way home, went to use the 15 ft cord, and the connector to the RV is different. Is there an adapter that will make the RV connection compatible with the power cord?

the best price I found for the 30 amp Marinco was a short length at boats USA or somesuch. cut off the plug and put a standard 15/20 amp plug on to run an extension cord to.

I suspect this: linkaroonie is what you need.

I did the same thing; bought 15', 50A extension and used this adapter to attach it directly to my RV.

You can buy an adapter at rv supply stores or on line about $20 or so.

You could also just replace the 50 amp with a new cable made up with 6/4 SO cable. Mine is 40' and not only noticeably lighter, but far more flexible.

You probably have a Marinco type Plug that goes into the RV...not a cheap plug to purchase unfortunately but doable. (Marinco is the twist on with locking ring type input).

First you need to state what NEMA connector you have on the end, and then go from there.

Looks like you got an extension cord instead of a power cord. You could always cut the end off and add the appropriate connector to it so it works with your rv.
