5th wheel and tonneau cover

Am pondering buying our first 5th wheel.

A concern is whether or not I would have to remove my "BakFlip G2" tonneau cover to accommodate the 5th wheel hitch in the 6' p/u bed. The BakFlip has 4 approx 18" sections that fold back on themselves and the last section nearest the truck folds up against the back window and anchors with a bracket on each side.

Wondering if others have kept their folding tonneau cover on their trucks by folding it out of the way successfully or if they just removed it because it was a hassle. I want to have my cover when we are camped and doing our day trips to be able to store stuff safely and out of the weather.

I have this bed cover and just fold up the sections needed to expose the hitch when towing. No need to fold all the way up to the window.

I do the same. Once unhooked and set up, I put my cover back down. Works fine for me.

I use a tri fold also, but with long bed and Revolution hitch the nose of the trailer doesn't come any where near the cover when folded.

We have TonnoPro trifold and I run with it folded up on front third. Reduces the bed-to-5er clearance on tight turn just at the one corner but has never been an issue. Nice to just fold back when I unhitch and cover everything. I really like the TonnoPro and it was inexpensive compared to many.

I'm thinking I'll need to get a Tri-fold. I really like my Truxedo LoPro QT, but the frame extends 1" above and 3" inward. I'm betting it would interfere or get rubbed.

I have the Truxedo LoPro on my GMC, no issues with inference with the fifth wheel king pin.

I have a roll up, and the only issue is that when it is rolled up, is that it blocks the rear view just enough that I can't see whether the pin is lining up with the hitch when I back to hook up. I usually just angle it off the rails, so it drops into the bed, leaving me with a clear view. Of course, then I forget, and drive around with it flopped into the bed. No harm done, but it looks unprofessional.

I had an Extang Encore, similar to the Fold-a-cover below. Really liked it and the ability to get access to front of box. Only problem with it is, when panels are folder forward so rear of box is available, it adds about 3" to the top of the box, thus if you have 6" clearance to the bottom of trailer and making a sharp turn, you need to be very careful as you now only have 3" clearance. That is were I think the Bakflip is better as the panels are vertical along the back window. Yes, blocks your view out the rear window, but no clearance issue.

Fold-A-cover on a short bed - agree with the above.
Wish it would stack vertical......

when towing - what's to see out the back window?..:h

I have that cover. Zero issues whatsoever. I fold the back two panels over the front two and strap down with bungee cord as per directions.

I have the exact same cover on my 2008 Super Duty and I fold the back 2 sections to expose the hitch and everything hooks up fine. Nothing rubs or interferes with hitch operation or articulation.
