5th wheel hitch

I'm looking for info on a 5th wheel hitch. Just bought a 2013 3500 Silverado HD Duramax SRW truck with a 6'6 bed. I'm thinking of getting a 5th wheel with a Mor/ryde pin box. What hitch do you others use with that pin box?

I also forgot to mention, I have the 4x4 too. It made no difference and I didn't need a slider either. Another item I asked about and one dealer told me yes and gave me a quote but the dealer I bought from told me that I wouldn't need one. He was honest! Yes, I said I found an honest dealer...

No.

I have the same bed length but in a 2004 truck. My first hitch was a Reese slider. It was easy to hitch, but a little bit finicky to unhitch. The slide was not really needed. I used it once in a while and it does make things easier sometimes.

I switched to a stationary B&W hitch, I think it is called the Patriot. It is more finicky to hitch than the Reese because it doesn't tilt forward as much, so you have to be pretty much spot on in elevation to back onto it. But it is much easier to unhitch than the Reese, so go figure. It is a much tighter hitch than the Reese. It holds the pin very snug and there is NO chucking.

Overall I'd recommend the B&W, and no slider.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

No.

I have a 4X4.

I don't have a sliding hitch. The front cap of your 5th wheel will determine if you need one or not.

I have that truck with the dual wheels and long bed. I'm pulling with the new Reese R20 hitch with the MOR/ryde pinbox. Good combination. I'm happy with it. You may need a slider with your 6'6" bed, tho.

I have a Hijacker Ultra Slide double pivot hitch and Mor/ryde pinbox which work really well together, and the hitch has an adjustable pin fit which really cuts down on noise.

Same hitch, 2 different 5th wheels and IMHO, no thoughts of another brand hitch in the future.

I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 3500HD SRW SB.

I have a B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch. It is set at the rearmost and highest position.

I've towed 7K+ miles.

Easy to hitch and unhitch. Sturdy construction. Made in USA.

Highly recommend.

I have the same truck and went with the B&W that easily fits under my Rolbak tonneau cover. I asked the dealer about the Moride and Airide. He could've sold me something I didn't need but he suggested against it unless I felt I needed it. He was right, my truck and 5th wheel ride nice as is. I really like the BW! Easy to use, locks into place, and I'm able to back into it easily. Good luck

My previous 5th wheel had a MorRyde pinbox and it worked great, no chucking, clanking or lurching. I am now using a Reese 5th Airborne pinbox and it also works great, but I believe the MorRyde was smoother as it gives some for/aft cushioning that the Reese setup doesn't. I am still "calibrating" my 5th Airborne hitch so I am still trying to find the best air pressure.
