I always use the leggo stacking blocks to level side to side. Sometimes I have to dig down 6-8" to get those blocks low enough so the rig is level... ๐Ÿ™‚

One thing I do.....set front to rear level then I drop front 1" below level.
Set rear stabilizer jacks on 6X6X12 wood blocks (so stabilizers don't have to travel as far...makes for wider stance). After setting rear stabilizer jacks nice and snug I raise front back up to level.
5vr is pretty darn solid that way.

I do the same thing as it puts a touch more load on the rear than you can do with the crank.
Additional thing I do is to put wheel chocks behind both rear trailer wheels and then back truck/trailer up another inch. Wife then chocks in front of the front trailer tires and it helps stop some of the movement that you pick up from tire flex as you move around in the trailer after unhooked. Randu

I once raised the front of our 5th Wheel forgetting the rear stabilizers were down, bending one side pretty badly. Yeah, I know... pretty stupid on my part. That said, raising the front of the 5er after "snugging up" the rear stabs needs to be done with extreme caution. Don't over-do it. I will have to try the chalk trick also mentioned here.

With a fiver, you pretty much level the same way when you don't have auto levelers, but only side to side. The landing gear usually takes care of the front to back, but you still have to know how much to pin your landing gear, so that you do have enough clearance to level front to back when you're unhooked.

On the front power leveling jacks if on a side hill do you use the leg adjustments or leveling blocks, or a combination of both to level?

What about level gauges? Where is the best place to put them on the trailer. I see a lot of 5ers with a level gauge on the kingpin. I assume this allows the driver to easily see when the trailer is level when backing into a spot or onto blocks.

I have a large graduated level on pin box....allows me to check side to side level when positioning 5vr. Then I can tell GF which side and have many boards to lay down so I can back on/pull on to for side to side leveling.

I extend landing gear legs as needed so that when I drop the pinned inner tubes they are not extended as much.......less wobble in front legs. I pull pins and let them drop onto ground then run driven tubes until pins snap into holes in inner tube. (if pin holes are way off I will put an extra cutting board under to get holes closer. Otherwise just one board under each leg)

I use a 2' level on bottom edge of bedroom slide out to set front to rear level. Slide out is right above the extend/retract switch and if my bedroom slide is level so is my fridge (luckily)

Side to side using blocks/boards/ramps etc. on low side.

Use front landing gear to level front to back. Then set rear stabilizer jacks.
