Battery Tender for the Toys

With dune season quickly approaching in So. Cal. I pulled the quads and RZR out this past weekend and had three dead batteries. An overnight charge brought them back to life but I need to figure out the best way to keep all three on a battery tender during the off season. What do you guys do or use? Can one tender be hooked up to three batteries at once (with a little custom wiring) or should I get individual tenders for each battery? Does a tender need to be on all the time or would a few hours per day via a timer do the trick? Thanks in advance.

go to Summit Racing, they have the real Battery Tenders. There is one that will do 4 @ one time. I have a 2 bank and it is on my Arctic Cat Prowler at all times @ home. Think I paid around $100 for it.

You have motorcycle batteries that have lasted 15yrs??? Come on...

When you take care of things like leaving the battery tender plugged in as recommended, it pays off. I have an old 12V 7amp gell cell that's over 20 years old and still ticking for my winter fish finder. Boat battery is going on 11 years old and still fine, did a load test and still over 80%.

Multi bank Battery Tenders are sweet, but as others have posted, they cost a small fortune.

I've even plugged one (single bank Battery Tender) in to my truck when it sits for months on end.

I also like the multi-tap tenders but could not justify the price. Just get a power strip with multiple wall warts for all your batteries. Unless the batteries are the same age and capacity, do not put them in parallel for charging - This is the case with power toy batteries just like house batteries.

I would just buy one tender and cycle it to a different battery every few weeks. Physically disconnect the batteries from the ATV/SxS and no reason it can't sit for a couple of months with a charge on it and not drain.

I also looked at the multiple bank batt tenders but the price seems crazy since the wall wart style are much less expensive even for several of them. I was told those multiple back style are designed for places that need to charge or stock lots of batts all the time like batt stores.
