Broken Shower Stall Glass?

I have a 2007 Wildcat 27RLS. It sat in storage for 3 months this summer. When wanting to use the unit in Sept. I found that a panel in our shower was shattered. I now have a new glass ordered and find it is very expensive. Our dealer told us he didn't think it was from the heat from sun shinning through the sky light. Any comments?

Also, while the dealer was repacking my wheel's he found a buldge i
n a tire. Carlyle tires any comment on these. Dealer stated that they are the worst tire we could have on the RV. Have only 10,000 miles in less than 3 years of use. And, I keep them covered. Comments please.
Happy Rving!!

TIRES are an issue! I always check pressure, keep them covered while in storage, on boards. I think the tire dealer should have known he was selling a low rated tire. Not a knowledgeable salesman...

Just like an RV salesman will tell you your F150 will tow a 35' FW... I had to put a set of Carlisles on my FW a couple years ago as the Maxxis I wanted would have taken too long to get and I needed tires =now=. Every time I'm in Discount Tire, I ask one of the guys if they have a trailer and what kind of tires they run. A lot are running the newer Carlisles, which I have. Supposedly a new design that's built to withstand more temperature and stress. Dunno, but I'm watching mine like a hawk. Were I in your boat, I'd spring for Maxxis E-range tires if you have 15" rims or dump the rims and tires both and go to a 16" LT E-range tire. Just be sure you have enough clearance to do so.

Being tempered glass, if it has even the slightest scratch on it that can lead to it blowing out at any unexpected time. Also, if it was not set into the metal frame properly, as in the frame wasn't square when the glass was inserted, that can also stress the glass and cause it to break.
You can smack the front of a piece of tempered glass with a hammer and it won't break. But if you tap the thin edge it will very easily shatter.

X2,
Wow tow pages before someone explained about tempered glass. It is normally very tough, but can shatter from the slightest tweak in the wrong place.
Glass needs to be cut to size then tempered, once tempered, you can't cut it again as it will shatter. The tempering process places a lot of surface tension in the glass.

Our shower door exploded for no reason... I open the door to the RV and then heard a loud noise, it was the shower door. Took the door off took it to a glass company and they installed a new glass for me about $100.00.

Also had a tire blow out damage was better than 4k,, had the Goodyear 614's on there and Goodyear paid for all the damage..

Depending on where the bubble is on the tire, could be a couple of reasons.

The bubble could be from damage when installed. If they tore a small portion of the bead when mounting, this could allow air to get between the inner casing and the sidewall. Had this happen when I had a flat repaired. Lasted about a month and then all of a sudden had a small bubble on the outside. VERY large bubble on the inside of the tire.

There is a possibility of your hitting a curb and doing damage to the sidewall. This also will not show for a while.

Just a couple of possibilities.

Our new trailer has china bombs on it. We plan to replace them soon. How are new trailers typically transported from manufacture to various dealers around the country? Are they towed individually so the tires when I buy a new trailer already have a few 1000 miles on them (I'm in AZ), or are they flat bedded and towed with a semi?

Replace your tires, I don't know what the shower glass costs, but the possible damage a blown tire can do to your trailer can run 1 or 2 thousand. How would I know that, I waited too long to replace my china bombs!

Couple of my Snowbird neighbors had 4000-4500 repair bills from blow trailer tires.

Shower stall glass would be tempered glass.
Yes, it is expensive.
Replacement should also be tempered.
Better to have little glass cubes than glass slivers if it breaks again.
So much to experience, so little time.

Most of the time that glass breaks like that it is heat on one side, sun etc.

Your tire experience is normal for that tire type. If you go read their web site they acknowledge those miles and life span to be about it.

Read page 93 and 94 in sliding panel or PDF.

There are better tire types available. Chris

Check for glass with a glass and mirror professional company. Might be a pleasant and less expensive experience. I never had glass break so couldn't imagine why that would happen.

Had the shower door shatter for no reason. There was no one in the trailer. Talked to someone else who had the same thing happen while watching Tv in the main area. He said it sounded like gunfire when it went. Never did find a reason mine went. Trailer was about 5 months old at the time. Little pieces of glass went all over the bedroom and down the stairs of my 5er into the kitchen. Mine was replaced under warranty but there was a bunch of discussion before they agreed to it. I know they thought I broke it, but I really didn't.
Can't speak to your tire question.
