My wife and I were staying at a campground in Chestermere, Alberta which is a short drive east of Calgary, this past summer. Our oldest son and his wife live there. They took us out to a restaurant there for supper one night. It is on the bank of the lake there. My wife watched a video of all the snow in that area and remarked that it sure looks like the restaurant that we ate at, was in the video. Sure enough it was as our daughter who lives in Edmonton sent it to us. In the video there is a man shoveling the deep snow off the docks at the restaurant and while he is doing that a power boat goes by on the lake with a man skiing behind the boat. Just another day in Alberta.....I guess, lol.

And to think I was upset that it is going to be 90 degrees today as I set out by the lake in South Carolina. I had hoped for upper 70's. I won't complain now. 😄

I am retired and used to camping during the week in out of the way places. I mostly avoid camping in July and August because of the crowds, except for backcountry. I really like getting out all year, and head for the low desert in winter. Sometimes I just leave the anti-freeze in place on short trips.

Bob, trying to get one of the chest freezers empty! Not likely to fill all of the licenses....but possible.

Will probably try to fill out on cows first...and if filled-out, hunt for a trophy bull. Meaning....we probably won’t fill all the tags!

Won’t stop ( long story) the wife from taking her elk this year....so, we should get at least one!

Just starting to get serious for us! We have about 5 weeks of boondocking slated for the end of this month and in November. Fully expect many single digit F’s and maybe some below O’s. We’ve got 4 elk licenses and 2 deer licenses to fill-out! If all of the “planets align”,maybe a lion, bear, wolf.....or all of the above! 😉

Good luck with the hunting. I'm sure you'll need a place to store that elk meat. Just let me know; I'll take care of it. :B
Sure do miss "Big Wonderful", but not when it gets cold!

going to have a little meat?

How do you secure your firearms when away from the trailer?

When away from trailer....we have the firearms! Most people are not stupid enough to break into campers during hunting season. It happens, but if caught....the results could be a “life changing” event!

Ok after seeing that I will not complain about 85 degrees and monster skeeters here in North Carolina.

Woowee heat tape has gotten expensive, 30 bux for a 6ft length and it goes up from there. Manuf. must be paying a lot for liability insurance or something.

In preparation for a two week trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior next week, just added two 60w heating pads to my aux water tank. Will be adding some heat trace to the feed hose and pump head after work.

Only made it to 90 degrees yesterday, and will likely be the same today. Still too hot for really pleasant camping.;)

They're talking snow on the Peaks in Flagstaff today, as the tail-end of Rosa passes through. No hint as to snow level, though. Not like they're 12,635', or anything. :B
