Correct Storage a Configuration

ok, I had a new RV pad poured at my new house. This is the first time I have been able to have my baby stored at home. I'm excited. Is it better to store it sitting on front jack stands and tires, or should I also use the rear jacks and keep the weight off the tires. Which way do you store your Rv. It's a 5th wheel, if it makes a difference. Thank you for any input.

Mine sits in the back yard on 6" of coarse gravel. Landing gear and wheels. Near level. Plugged in.

I do put the stabilizers down firmly if I am going to be running the slides out and in.

If I am not using the 5er for a month or more. I keep mine on the front landing gear and the wheels. I also keep the front of the 5er high to avoid any pooling of water on the roof.

I walk past mine every day when I walk the dog so I keep an eye on the tires (shaded)to make sure they are not going flat, keep bird nests cleaned off of the hitch/bumper/steps/etc, and generally watch for any change in status.

I keep mine plugged in but I take my good batteries out and put them in the warmed garage on a maintainer, summer and winter. I put an old boat battery in the RV to maintain power for the slide or whatever if I do decide to use it. I have all the water out of the lines, even in summer. I do an anti critter check on the inside every couple of weeks and watch for signs of intrusion.

Almost forgot, I put a gun cleaning brush in the fresh water tank breather hole. Around here there is a wasp that likes to use small bore holes for a nest. The first year I parked at my house I found almost 6 inches of wasp nest in my breather tube.

Do what makes you feel good. For a few years I would lift it some just to releive some weight off the tires & suspension, not off the ground, & use stands under the frame aft of the rear spring hangers.

These days with indoor storage it is less than a foot from a wall on one side so once in place there is no working room aft of the front wheel. Full weight on the wheels, no use of stabilizers.

So, as a relatively new owner of a 5er, is it a good thing to take a little weight off the tires during storage? My thought was to relieve some weight with a jack and then place jack stands on the frame to support. Wasn't trying to lift the wheels clear of the ground, just take a little weight off em. partsman01 - sounds like you lift them clear of the ground. Is that better?

Good idea or bad?

In addition, I place moth balls in several locations that keep the rodents out.

Mine is sitting with jacks down on wooden wheel blocks, landing legs on concrete blocks, this year rolled it onto two large planks so all wheels are off the ground, put my tire covers on also, then I put a proper RV cover on top, plugged unit in, blew all water lines out, then pumped pink RV anti-freeze through the system after isolating hot water tank which I had previously drained, then RV anti freeze in all traps, toilet and then put three of those smallround heaters in that have very low heat and little fans to just create some air circulation.
And I believe that is it.
Oh and a couple plug in rodent repellers.

Rear jacks.........those aren't jacks they are stabilizers.

If you try to use them to 'jack' up 5vr you will damage them.

Only way to take weight off wheels/tires is to use jacks (bottle or floor) and lift trailer

Parking/storing it at house (or any where)
Park it------reasonable level whenever possible
Chock the wheels----keep it for rolling away
Cover the wheels-----protect tires for sun
Plug it in.....if you have power and a smart converter/charger
