Desert set-up pictures

I've been going out to the desert for quite a few years, and am always looking to add to/change up my camp set-up. Right now its really basic. I love getting ideas from other peoples camps and putting my own spin on them. I'd be interested in seeing some of your set-ups, especially if you have something unique, or more well thought out than I do.

I'm looking for one of those new fangled stainless steel ones. That way I can polish it all out and be the coolest dude in camp......
I used an old disc blade out of my dad's junk pile, and put pipe collars on the tub and the blade, with a short length of tubing for height. One leg, one blade, it all drops inside the tub to travel, and a 22" replacement charcoal grill top from Home Depot fits perfect on top to cook those camp goodies.

Another important point...Make sure it's a metal tub and not plastic. 😛

Maytag tubs work best, they don't have the tall center cone that gets in the way.

We had one but the DW didn't like it, it eventually rusted away in the back yard.

Sounds like I have another project to work on . Thinking tripod legs that fold up or come off so it fits in the back of truck with my 5th wheel better?

Just have everyone sing "Kumbaya" when the ranger comes around and all is fine. 😉

As long as you only use it on a "burn day" in Cali, you'll be fine..........:) I got mine from a road side find out by the dump road. I figured the fires would burn the bottom out in no time at all. That was over 25 years ago, still going strong.

Just keep a couple of Hot Dog forks and a pack of Hot Dogs near you and you can burn anytime you want!!
Thats what we do,, use our washer drum in the back yard some nights,,even "PROHIBITED",, As long as it is for "Food" No one can tell you to put it out!!
Unless it is for wildland restrictions..
If it is "Particulate"burning restrictions a BBQ/fire is exempt!
Also,, if it is for religious purposes you can burn!!

Do you like your washer basket fire pit I replaced my washer and and I was trying to decided weather it would worth hauling it around? If I made one.

In my opinion, best camping fire pit there is. The holes allow for plenty of o2 to the fire, and also allows a lot of radiant heat. They don't look pretty, but they work great. Heck, we even use it in our backyard for fires.
