If you are worried about 1000lbs, you don't have enough truck and you have bigger issues to be concerned with other than water weight.
And I compute 1,328 pounds, which is heck of a load.

You might take a look at my signature, I probably have a little more truck than you do.
My concern is my 2700lb. Useful load minus 1170lbs of motorcycles, minus 420lbs of generator/toy fuel, minus 100-200 lbs of food and gear, and after you add them up, I am pretty close to my gross weight. If I decide to add some batteries or other equipment, I will have to start limiting some weight and the easiest place to start is the water tank. The concensus seems to be 'take it with you' so I guess its time to load up everything and head to the scale.

we drink/cook with our tank water. Burbank water is pretty good, a little heavy on chlorine but that helps the tank stay "fresh" never had an issue. But then again we use our trailer at least once a month, during the winter/race season more like twice/month.
Isn't Burbank where my water flows to when I brush my teeth? Aren't you guys drinking my Santa Clarita gray water? :B
(My office is in Burbank and the water is fine.)
